Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba was shocked by the elimination of real-life couple and competitors Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess during Disney Night. Burgess and Green were sent home along with former Bachelor star Matt James and his pro partner Lindsay Arnold. Inaba claimed the couple positively handled themselves as they balanced their work and private life as a real-life couple competing on DWTS.

Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess welcomed fans into their love story

Green and Burgess, who have been dating almost one year, spoke openly about their relationship in pre-taped packages which aired ahead of their five weeks of dances. Fans caught a glimpse of how well-suited they appear to be as a couple.

However, some challenges come along with dating your dance partner. Burgess addressed these in an interview.

“Honestly, it’s almost a disadvantage,” Burgess said to Us Weekly. “We have this sensitivity when minding each other’s feelings. We want to make sure our relationship is good outside of it. That’s always going to be a priority for us.”

Burgess claimed that the pressure to show fans the romance in their relationship caused added pressure each week.

The couple maintained a good sense of humor about combining work and their personal life and enjoyed welcoming viewers into their love story each week.

Longtime Dancing with the Stars judge Inaba expressed her feelings in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“I think tonight was shocking cause everybody’s doing so well,” Inaba stated.

“Disney night is magic, and there was this sort of magic, and everybody ups their game. So when the evening comes around, it does sort of feel unexpected. I felt like a little slap in the face, like whoa, wait, OK.”

Inaba added she was happy for her friend’s relationship. However, she added that it was not easy to work with someone you were dating.

“I give them so much credit for being so professional and so elegant out there every time—Sharna’s like family, right, to all of us. So the beautiful thing is, although we’re judging the dance, we’re all happy for her and her personal life,” Inaba explained.

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
