Carrie Bradshaw Goes to Astoria: Sarah Jessica Parker Spotted Filming for ‘and Just Like That…’ in Queens
Filming for And Just Like That… season 3 began in May. Since then, onlookers have spotted the cast all over Manhattan, shooting scenes for the much-anticipated third season. Fans are used to seeing Carrie Bradshaw traverse the streets of Manhattan. Still, she rarely leaves the borough. Season 3 might take her off her beloved island. Sarah Jessica Parker, the actor who portrays Carrie Bradshaw, was spotted shooting scenes for the show in Astoria, an iconic Queens neighborhood.
‘And Just Like That…’ filmed in Astoria
Carrie Bradshaw might be making her way to Queens in season 3 of And Just Like That… In late August, Sarah Jessica Parker was spied on the streets of Astoria, filming for the upcoming season. According to the Astoria Post, Parker was walking down 24th Avenue before heading into Anoria Boutique, a clothing retailer. The bulk of the filming took place inside the boutique. The business proprietor told the Astoria Post that they can’t discuss filming details. It is unclear if Astoria, as a neighborhood, will play into the show or if the production crew will pass off the stretch of small businesses as a Manhattan neighborhood.
The owner of Macoletta Brick Oven Pizzeria was the first to report a sighting of Parker in the borough. They took to the pizzeria’s Instagram page to share shots of Parker meandering down the sidewalk. Macoletta is not directly involved in the scene. Still, presuming sidewalk shots will be included in the series, fans might be able to spot the pizza and wine bar. The pizzeria sits on the corner of 24th Avenue and 29th Street.
Carrie Bradshaw has stepped out of Manhattan often enough in ‘And Just Like That…’
While the potential appearance of Astoria is pretty novel for And Just Like That… fans, it isn’t the first time Carrie Bradshaw has left Manhattan in the show’s spinoff. In season 1, Carrie traveled to Paris to give Mr. Big a proper send-off. She scattered his ashes in the city. Paris was where they rekindled their romance during the Sex and the City finale.
In season 2, she did a fair bit of traveling around. The author traveled to Virginia to visit Aidan Shaw’s Norfolk farmhouse. Fans didn’t see the property, though. She spent a fair bit of time in Brooklyn, too. Most notably, she headed to the Coney Island Boardwalk to check out Steve Brady’s latest business venture. In the final moments of season 2, Carrie and Seema sat seaside, away from Manhattan, together.
Season 3 of And Just Like That… is still being filmed. Max has yet to announce an official premiere date for the show’s third season. Still, it is expected to be included in the streaming service provider’s 2025 releases.
