Here’s what a source said regarding how Casey felt about Ben and Lopez as a couple before they married.

Casey and Ben Affleck are incredibly close. They grew up acting together, and they’ve seen each other through their highs and lows, from relationship failures to alcoholism. While the brothers prefer to stay out of the spotlight, the media continues to heavily feature Ben in 2024 due to his failing marriage to Jennifer Lopez.

Lopez and Ben fell in love in the early 2000s and got engaged in 2002. Unfortunately, by 2004, the couple called their engagement off and went their separate ways. Casey knew Lopez when she and Ben were initially romantically involved. Unfortunately, when the couple reunited in 2021, Casey might not have been a fan of his brother’s decision. A source told OK! Magazine in April 2022 that Casey found Ben and Lopez to be “superficial.”

“He finds them superficial,” the insider alleged. “Ben and Jen are at the center of the whole LA social scene, which Casey finds frivolous and has really divorced himself from.”

The insider added that Casey is constantly “searching, reading, and writing, and trying to figure himself out” and has little interest in “the fancy parts” of fame. “Casey is allergic to the circus Ben’s life has become, and it’s just not a world he knows or cares to navigate,” the source continued. “He and Caylee [Cowan] won’t be double-dating with Bennifer anytime soon!”

Casey Affleck has never shown outward disdain for Ben Affleck’s wife, Jennifer Lopez. While Casey didn’t attend the couple’s second wedding on Ben’s Georgia estate, he congratulated the happy couple on Instagram.

“Good things are worth waiting for,” he captioned an Instagram post in August 2022, according to People. The post showed an old photo of him, Ben, and Lopez walking together in Los Angeles in August 2002, when Lopez and Ben fell in love for the first time. “Here is to twists and turns, new beginnings, and finding new reservoirs of old love,” Casey wrote.

He then poked fun at Lopez for marrying his older brother. “Get ready for some real dysfunction!” he continued. “Kidding. I am kidding.” He ended the post by calling Lopez a “gem” and telling her that the Affleck family “loves” her.

Ben Affleck’s younger brother hasn’t commented on the current divorce rumors

Casey Affleck hasn’t mentioned Ben Affleck’s current marital strain with Jennifer Lopez. Lopez and Ben allegedly already signed divorce papers and are waiting to make the split official. Casey went through a divorce of his own with Summer Phoenix. The couple publicly announced their split in 2016.

Lopez and Ben also haven’t publicly acknowledged their alleged impending divorce. However, the couple continues to act like they are not together. Ben spent most of his summer in Los Angeles, while Lopez spent her summer in New York. Ben also bought a house of his own in LA after skipping Lopez’s birthday party in the Hamptons. The couple didn’t acknowledge their two-year wedding anniversary, though they posted about it in 2023.
