Ben and Casey Affleck have always been close. The brothers starred in a few of the same movies through the years and continue to work well together in 2024. While Casey didn’t attend Ben’s wedding to Jennifer Lopez in 2022, he took the opportunity to hurl a few jokes at Lopez online.
“Good things are worth waiting for,” he captioned an Instagram post in August 2022, according to People. The post included a throwback photo of himself, Ben, and Lopez walking in Los Angeles in August 2002. “Here is to twists and turns, new beginnings, and finding new reservoirs of old love.”
“Welcome to the family,” he continued, referencing Lopez. “Get ready for some real dysfunction! Kidding. I am kidding. Casey closed the post with, “Jen, you are a gem. We love you so much!!!”
The post no longer exists on Instagram. Casey seems to have cleared his social media accounts to show only a few posts over the years. He also likely wanted to delete the post after divorce rumors swirled around his brother and Lopez. Insiders have claimed that Ben and Lopez have been considering a split since at least May 2024.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez had two weddings. They tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022 after a spur-of-the-moment decision to elope. “Ben just says, ‘F*** it, let’s just go to Vegas and get married tonight,'” Lopez recalled while talking to Jimmy Kimmel, according to E! News. They then had two of their kids serve as witnesses.
In August 2022, the couple had a proper celebration at Ben’s estate in Georgia. The couple had Savannah trolley cars bring guests around the 87-acre estate. A-listers like Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, Kevin Smith, and Hollywood talent agent Patrick Whitesell attended the beautiful event. However, Casey Affleck was noticeably absent.
Unfortunately, the groom’s brother couldn’t make the wedding due to “family, parental obligations at home,” a source told People. Before the wedding, paparazzi saw Casey in Los Angeles and asked why he wasn’t in Georgia for the event. “I have other things,” he seemed to mutter without further explaining, according to Page Six.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were once hopelessly in love. Unfortunately, they’re likely headed for divorce just two years after tying the knot. Insiders close to the couple alleged for months that Lopez and Affleck had trouble communicating and haven’t reconciled. Affleck bought a home of his own in LA during the summer of 2024 and didn’t attend his wife’s birthday party on the opposite coast.
A source told People in August 2024 that Lopez “hasn’t seen Ben for weeks” as the couple is “moving on separately.” Lopez is also reportedly trying to find a new home after she and Affleck put their $68 million mansion up for sale.
“Considering everything that’s going on, Jennifer is having a good summer,” the insider added. “She’s been off and able to focus on what’s next.”
