Cassie Once Commented on Why She Never Married Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs
Hip-hop mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs is losing public favor following the leaked hotel footage of him physically hurting Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. Ventura and Combs dated on and off from 2007 to 2018. The public is still talking about their relationship in 2024 after Homeland Security raided two of Combs’ properties. Ventura once discussed why she and Combs never tied the knot despite their longstanding relationship. Here’s what she said.

Casandra “Cassie” Ventura had a tumultuous relationship with Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. The couple was together on and off for nearly a decade, though Ventura’s lawsuit against Combs in 2023 revealed Combs’ abuse. The exes settled the lawsuit just one day after Ventura filed.
In 2018, Ventura spoke to Hot 97 about her thoughts on marriage. Ventura was still dating Combs, though they broke up permanently that year.
“You know what’s cool about Puff is that he is, and he does want to understand marriage,” Ventura said after the interviewer questioned why Combs never tied the knot in the past. “But, we have, you know, a certain type of relationship, and it just works the way it is.”
When asked if Ventura believes that “marriage is for everybody,” she answered, “No. Absolutely not.”
“I believe in marriage with the right situation,” Ventura continued. “But, I’ve seen a lot of people get married and break up in the term that I’ve been in my relationship, you know what I mean? You can’t really put a tag on it. Of course, everybody looks at marriage as something solid and important.”
“It’s the idea of marriage that I think people fall in love with,” she added.

Sean “P. Diddy” Combs had several relationships aside from his longstanding romance with Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. However, he never tied the knot with any of the women in his past or the mothers of his children. Combs spoke on Yung Miami’s program, Caresha Please, about why he never wanted to take that next step.
“Just wasn’t ready, just wasn’t ready,” Combs said, according to Revolt. ” … Just didn’t wanna … never had a desire to get married, you know what I’m saying? When I was growing up, my father got killed when I was young, when I was 2. And my mother, she just like, never wanted to have men around … it was something during that time, having men around your children. So, I never really saw a relationship like that, I was just raised around women. I never really had those aspirations.”

Sean “P. Diddy” Combs and Casandra “Cassie” Ventura never married, but Ventura later married Alex Fine. In 2019, she had a small, backyard, black-tie wedding to the wellness consultant. Ventura and Fine decided to get married after she discovered she was pregnant.
“We decided to plan a wedding for this past summer after debating between getting married before or after the baby came,” she told Vogue. “I knew that Alex was designing a ring, but I honestly wasn’t expecting a super elaborate proposal because we already had the wedding date set, but he planned such a beautiful experience for me. I was so surprised!”
After Ventura and Fine’s wedding, Combs posted, “Keep Going. I’ve got you. – The Universe,” to Instagram. In June 2019, Combs congratulated Ventura and Fine on the news of their pregnancy. “Congratulations @Cassie and Alex,” he wrote. “I wish you all nothing but love and happiness. God bless L O V E.”
