‘Celebrity Big Brother 3’ Houseguests React to Super Bowl Matchup and Tom Brady Retirement
After two weeks in the house, host Julie Chen Moonves brought outside news to the Celebrity Big Brother 3 houseguests. How did the houseguests react when they found out about the 2022 Super Bowl matchup and winningest quarterback Tom Brady’s retirement?
Julie Chen Moonves shared outside news with ‘Celebrity Big Brother 3’ houseguests
During Celebrity Big Brother 3 Episode 7, which aired on February 11, the houseguests faced off for the Power of Veto before voting to evict a third famous player.
Then-Head of Household Miesha Tate nominated close allies Carson Kressley and Cynthia Bailey for eviction. The former was her target as she pegged him as a physical and social threat.
Pageant queen Shanna Moakler, who is aligned with the nominees, won the Power of Veto and saved Carson from elimination.
Her move blindsided the HOH as she initially promised not to use it, who then backdoored Shanna’s final two ally, Chris Kirkpatrick. Before they voted to evict, host Julie Chen Moonves filled the players in on some outside news they missed, including the birth of Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott’s second child.
The 2022 Super Bowl matchup and Tom Brady retirement announcement surprised the ‘Celebrity Big Brother 3’ cast
She asked former NBA champ Lamar Odom, who he thought would compete in this year’s NFL Super Bowl game. He thought favorites Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams would face-off, and Moonves hinted that he got one right.
She then announced the Cincinnati Bengals would make their first appearance in the championship game since 1989. Everyone was excited and surprised as they cussed, especially actor Todd Bridges, causing the audio to cut.
The host also revealed quarterback Tom Brady’s seemingly unexpected decision to retire, again much to the surprise of several houseguests.
Kirkpatrick seemed the most shocked, with Lamar noting he got “goosebumps” when Moonves announced the news. After informing the cast with outside information, the group chose to evict the former *NSYNC member from the house unanimously.
Chris Kirkpatrick followed Chris Kattan, Mirai Nagasu, and Teddi Mellencamp out of ‘CBB’
Shortly before getting backdoored, Kirkpatrick had immunity as HOH. He had a good standing playing both sides of the house as Miesha quickly involved him in her Athlete’s Alliance, and he secretly teamed up with Shanna.
Deeming Olympic figure skater Mirai Nagasu his biggest threat, mainly due to her ability to win competitions, Kirkpatrick targeted her, even though Miesha and Todrick wanted to keep her around.
He nominated her next to pawn Chris Kattan, and Shanna won the Veto, guaranteeing his selections would stay the same. Even though Kattan asked the houseguests to keep Mirai, who wanted to continue competing, they unanimously decided to save the comedian during his eviction speech.
However, after not doing well during his time in the house, Kattan chose to follow his friend out of the door next. The three follow former Real Housewives star Teddi Mellencamp who became the first boot as Miesha thought she presented the biggest threat. Celebrity Big Brother airs on CBS.
