In 2023, ID aired a six-part docuseries about Natalia, a young woman with a rare form of dwarfism who was adopted by a family in Indiana in 2010. At the time Kristine and Michael Barnett believed Natalia was about six years old. But after Natalia began to exhibit what the Barnetts claimed was strange and disturbing behavior, they became convinced she was actually an adult pretending to be a child.

The Barnetts successfully petitioned a court to change Natalia’s legal age to 22. Soon after, they moved to Canada, leaving their adoptive daughter behind to fend for herself. She was eventually adopted by another family, the Mans.

In early 2024, a follow-up series, The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks, aired on ID. In those episodes, Natalia shared her side of the story and confronted Michael about his and his wife’s actions. While it seemed that Natalia had found a home with the Mans, the season ended on a dramatic cliffhanger.

“Something ain’t right with Natalia,” Bishop Antwon Mans said in the season 2 finale, adding “this girl is tweakin’. I feel like she’s the enemy of the house. And she said to us we have held her hostage.”

Now, viewers will get to see the conclusion of Natalia’s saga in The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: The Final Chapter, premiering in January 2025 on ID.

Someone has turned Natalia against the Mans family

In a teaser (via YouTube) for the upcoming season, Antwon opens up to producers about the situation with Natalia.

“We got a situation,” he says in a phone call. “Something ain’t right with Natalia. She got this dude online. He turned her against us. She’s ready to go to hell with gasoline panties on.”

But others suggest that Antwon and his wife Cynthia aren’t what they seem.

“Cynth and Antwon know how to silence people,” one woman says.

“Behind closed doors, they’re monsters,” another man declares.

One person says he warned Natalia that her life was in danger, while another refers to the Mans as “a cult.”

What’s really going on with Natalia and the Mans family? The Final Chapter promises to dive “back into Natalia’s story as she faces a new set of challenges and upheavals from a dramatic rescue mission to new allegations of abuse,” according to a synopsis from ID. It will offer “a conclusion to Natalia’s story as she strives for healing and resolution in her tumultuous journey filled with decades of unexpected twists and turns.”
