Charlamagne tha God Says Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs ‘Can’t Run’ From Himself Forever: ‘That Lie … Is Going to Catch Up’
Hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arrested in September 2024 on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. The “I’ll Be Missing you” singer had been on the FBI’s radar for quite some time, though it took months of investigating for an arrest to be made. And ever since, celebrities have been slowly starting to speak out about the Diddy situation. Radio host and comedian Charlamagne tha God recently said that he believes Diddy “can’t run” from himself forever.
Charlamagne tha God speaks out on Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Diddy’s life as a hip-hop star saw him hosting extravagant parties and sparing no expense to have anything he wanted. He dated a number of women through the years, including Jennifer Lopez and a rumored relationship with Cameron Diaz, and Diddy’s now-infamous white parties were synonymous with high-status. However, with recent allegations coming to light, many celebrities can’t help but think that Diddy should just be honest.
“You can’t run from yourself,” Charlamagne said of Diddy’s situation while speaking on Good Day New York on December 16. “Eventually, whatever that lie is you’ve been telling is going to catch up.”
Diddy has been accused of sexual assault by a number of women, and although he denies the allegations, he recently dismissed his appeal for bail and will await trial in a New York City jail.
A number of celebrities have spoken up to say that they were never affiliated with Diddy’s parties, while others are doing their best to avoid the subject altogether. Will Smith recently said at one of his concerts that he was never involved with Diddy and that any news suggesting otherwise was nothing more than a rumor.
Suge Knight says he believes Diddy’s life might be ‘in danger’
Producer Suge Knight, who hosts a podcast from prison now that he is serving 28 years for voluntary manslaughter, has suggested that some celebrities could go to extreme lengths to protect their own names.
“I’ll tell you what, Puffy, your life is in danger ’cause you know the secrets of who’s involved in that little secret room you guys are participating in,” Knight said, according to The Source. “You know they gonna get you if they can… I turned myself in. Sometimes you gotta face the music; that’s most of the time.”
Rapper Ray J also spoke out about the Diddy situation, telling TMZ that he heard some celebs were going as far as trying to pay off Diddy’s alleged victims in order to avoid having their own names mentioned in the press.
