Charli D’Amelio and Sister Dixie Used to Get Into Fights With Each Other at School

Charli D’Amelio and her older sister, Dixie, are two of the top stars on TikTok. They frequently appear in each other’s videos and seem extremely close. It’s hard to imagine Charli and Dixie fighting, but the sisters admitted they often used to get into conflicts with each other. In fact, it was not uncommon to see them fighting at school.

Charli D’Amelio and Dixie D’Amelio used to not get along

Charli and Dixie are three years apart in age, and they have shared that they were not close growing up.

In an interview with NBC’s Gadi Schwartz last year, Charli shared that she often felt she was living in her older sister’s shadow.

“When I was younger, people used to say that I was the ugly sister or the fat sister,” Charli said. “I always wanted to be just like Dixie because she always seemed like—she was so happy and she had so many friends.”

Charli added, “At this point in our lives, we weren’t that close, so we didn’t talk often.”

Before they moved to Los Angeles to pursue online fame, Charli and Dixie were just teenagers living in Connecticut. They both attended a private institution called King School.

In an joint interview with Popsugar, Dixie revealed the two of them sometimes clashed while at school. However, they also knew how to work things out with each other.

“We would get in fights [with each other] during school,” Dixie said. “But there’s been times where I would take you into a classroom where no one was in. We would have a full conversation. We were helping each other.”

How did the D’Amelio sisters become close?

Charli and Dixie eventually became close once they started having deep conversations with each other.

Speaking to Schwartz, Charli shared that she and Dixie used to drive to school together, which allowed them time to bond. She said, “I feel like I was able to learn so much about her and so much about who she is and be able to look up to her even more.”

This has allowed the D’Amelio sisters to support each other as they both become online stars. Dixie told Insider, “Charli and I are two different people, and we’ve always tried to never be in competition. I don’t want to do what she’s doing. I don’t want to be a dancer, because that’s her thing and I have my thing.”

However, at the end of the day, Charli and Dixie are still sisters. Like any siblings, they occasionally have arguments here and there. Charli told High Snobiety that clothes seem to spark conflicts between them.

“It’s usually about clothes. We’re the same size, so I tend to wear a lot of her clothes,” Charli said. “Our fights usually last two seconds and then we’re over it and, like, ‘Hey, wanna go for a car ride?’”
