Charli D’Amelio starred alongside Zac Efron, Joshua Bassett, and even Dove Cameron for one High School Musical production. Now, some fans are wondering if she’ll appear in the Disney+ original mockumentary, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

They’re all in this together. When MIss Jenn heard that the actual students of East High School never put on a stage production of High School Musical, she took matters into her own hands.

The result is High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, a Disney+ original mockumentary, featuring original music and songs from the Disney Channel film. Over a year following the release of the first season, Disney announced the release date for season 2.

Most of the cast members will return for this second season, this time putting on a stage production of the Disney musical, Beauty and the Beast. However, there are several new actors joining this cast.

Will Charli D’Amelio be in season 2 of ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’

The sister duo, Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, are more than just stars on the social media platform, TikTok. They’re dancers and singers. Charli D’Amelio was even featured in the High School Musical moment from The Disney Family Singalong, appearing alongside (but socially distanced from) Ashley Tisdale, Zac Efron, and Vanessa Hudgens.

D’Amelio is a dancer, as are several of the cast members from Disney’s original series. However, this TikTok star will not be in season 2 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Her role with the Singalong was her first partnership with Disney.

That’s not to say there won’t be new cast members in this season. As seen in the teaser trailer, there’s a new girl “blonde girl” in Ricky’s life. There’s also another drama teacher throwing shade at Miss Jenn. This theatre nerd is portrayed by renowned dancer, Derek Hough.

The cast of ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ appeared in a holiday special and in the ‘Disney Family Singalong’

Aside from the first and second seasons of this Disney+ original, this cast starred in a few other Disney productions. That includes a holiday special, released during December 2020, and the Disney Family Singalong

Although most of the original cast of High School Musical did not appear in the first season of this Disney+ original, Lucas Grabeel, who portrayed Ryan, made a cameo for one episode. Miss Jenn had a small role in the Disney Channel film and this actor appeared to her, offering guidance and support.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season 2 premieres on Disney+ in May 2021.
