‘Charmed’ Season 4 Theory: Where Will the New Sister Come From?
Charmed Season 3 is currently rocking on Netflix as viewers catch up with the witches’ latest exploits and tribulations. Mel, Maggie, and Macy met a distant family member, fell in love, and experienced heart-wrenching grief. Harry and Jordan experienced their own losses, wins, and transformations.
But the biggest shocker in the TV show‘s season finale was Macy’s death. What does that mean for the power of three? A new sister is stepping into the magic circle, and fans have theories on how her story fits into Charmed Season 4.
‘Charmed’ Season 3 killed off Macy
Though Macy Vaughn was the eldest of the Charmed Ones, she did not join the party until later episodes. Mel and Maggie learned they had another sister on their mother’s side, and it was a shock for all three of them. What made it harder for Macy was learning why her mother abandoned her and the whole demon blood link.
By the end of season 3, all three had a tight bond, but their fight to save the world cost Macy her life. The poison consumed her, and fans, Harry, and the witch sisters had to say farewell. Like its original Charmed predecessor, the series lost its eldest sister on screen and in real life. Many noted how Shannen Doherty did the same thing with Prue Halliwell.
Actor Madeleine Mantock announced her departure from the series via a statement to TV Line.
“Playing Macy on Charmed for the last three seasons has been an immense privilege and I have so enjoyed working with our fantastic producers, creatives, cast and crew,” she said. “I’m incredibly grateful to The CW and CBS Studios for my time on the show and for being a brilliant support in my difficult decision to leave. Huge thanks to our fans who can look forward to, what I know will be, a spectacular fourth season.”
‘Charmed’ Season 4 will welcome a new sister
It’s already been revealed that Mantock’s character will be replaced with another sister whom no one has met. But the series’ new showrunners promised that she won’t be one of Marisol’s mysteries.
With that said, some fans believe that this Charmed One should have an origin story from alternate reality or timeline. In this scenario, she’s still part of their bloodline, which is exactly what viewers saw with Mel and future pregnant Mel. However, this sister is not a duplicate of the others and would come from separate dimension or multiverse.
However, some social media users suggest writers use an egg donor situation that has Marisol as the donor. In that instance, she possibly has an unknown child out there. But, there is another theory floating around.
What about a ‘Charmed’ twin?
There is one idea that posits one of the sisters — namely Mel or Maggie — has a long lost twin in the world. The possibility of doubles is something viewers have seen before in this show, so maybe there’s a magical explanation for another sister. If she’s a twin, she could certainly be fraternal and therefore not require one of the actors to pull double duty.
Fans will have to wait until 2022 to see what season 4 has in store, but Charmed bosses assure everyone that this family member will definitely not be a brother.
