‘Chicago Fire’ Boss Derek Haas Calls the Season 10 Finale ‘Nonstop’ — ‘You’re Either Crying, Screaming, or Throwing a Brick Through Your TV Set’

The season 10 finale of ‘Chicago Fire’ is here, and it will include ‘nonstop’ action that will leave fans ‘either crying or screaming, plus the return of a fan favorite according to Derek Haas.

Chicago Fire has finally reached its season 10 finale, which will feature the return of Jesse Spencer as Matt Casey. This is Spencer’s first appearance since the show’s 200th episode, and he’ll be back in the Windy City for Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella’s (Miranda Rae Mayo) wedding.

But it doesn’t look like it will be the happy event that fans have been waiting for. Instead, showrunner Derek Haas is promising a “nonstop” finale that will have fans “either crying, screaming, or throwing a brick through your TV set.”

Jesse Spencer isn’t the only one returning for the ‘Chicago Fire’ season 10 finale

In addition to the appearance of Spencer as Matt Casey, the season 10 finale will also see the return of Kara Killmer’s Sylvie Brett after she decided to spend time with Casey in Oregon. They are in town for Stellaride’s wedding — which will happen — even though the planning has caused some tension. But it doesn’t look like it will be smooth sailing.

Showrunner Derek Haas has made some comments about the upcoming finale that should have fans a bit worried. He’s expecting some extreme reactions when it comes to what’s happening to the heroes of Firehouse 51. And as always, he’s promising the season will go out with a bang.

The showrunner promises that the season 10 finale is ‘nonstop’

While speaking with Cinema Blend, Haas teased that the season 10 finale of Chicago Fire is “nonstop.” And he expects fans to experience a serious emotional roller coaster.

“This finale is nonstop. Every act where the commercials come in – before every act, you’re either crying, screaming, or throwing a brick through your TV set. Or praising or cursing our names,” Haas said.

In addition to the showrunner’s promise, executive producer Andrea Newman revealed there would be a cliffhanger in the season 10 finale.

“We don’t always have to look ahead. This one, we did. There’s some cliffhanger-y stuff that will need to be resolved,” Newman explained.

‘Chicago Fire’ executive producer Derek Haas says ‘we’re screwed next season’

Cliffhangers are nothing new to the cast and crew of Chicago Fire, but they don’t always plan out the resolution in advance. Haas says they essentially winged last season, but they knew they would “figure it out.”

“A lot of times over the years we pretty much throw caution to the wind and say ‘That’s next season’s problem,’ which is our problem but we kind of don’t care,” Haas admitted. “We put our whole Squad into a sinking boat last year with no idea what we were gonna do. We were like, ‘Ah, we’ll figure it out.'”
