‘Chicago Fire’ Season 10: Caitlin Carver’s New Character Could Be Involved in a ‘Chicago Med’ Crossover
NBC’s One Chicago fans can’t wait to see more of Chicago Fire Season 10. So far this season, fans have seen some cast changes they hated, like Matt Casey leaving Firehouse 51. On the other hand, others, like Stella Kidd, returned. Now, it looks like there’s a new face in the Chicago Fire Season 10 cast. Actor Caitlin Carver is joining the cast. From the sounds of her character, it seems like fans could see her in a Chicago Med crossover situation.
Caitlin Carver is set to join the ‘Chicago Fire’ Season 10 cast
The Chicago Fire Season 10 cast will get a new face once the season returns from its winter hiatus. According to TVLine, Caitlin Carver from Dear White People and The Fosters will join the cast as the paramedic Emma. Her character joins sometime in mid-April 2022.
TVLine reminds fans Chicago Fire has seen a number of paramedics come and go. Leslie Shay, Gabby Dawson, Peter Mills, Allison Rafferty, Jessica “Chili” Chilton, Jimmy Borrelli, Emily Foster, and Gianna Mackey all worked on Ambulance 61 before leaving. Now, it seems likely Emma will work with Sylvie Brett and Violet Mikami.
We imagine Emma will also become well-acquainted with Paramedic Field Chief Evan Hawkins. Hawkins and Violet started a romance prior to the show’s winter hiatus. Perhaps Emma will get in the middle of this romance as she learns more about the crew, too.
Caitlin Carver’s character could be involved in a ‘Chicago Med’ Season 7 crossover
One Chicago fans would love to see a crossover event in 2022. The Chicago Med Season 7 showrunners stated a major crossover event won’t happen. Instead, smaller crossovers are planned for Chicago Med Season 7, Chicago Fire Season 10, and Chicago P.D. Season 9.
“At this point, we don’t have a major crossover planned but we do have minor ones,” executive producer Diane Frolov told TV Insider.
“So, you’ll see the Fire and P.D. people on our show and vice versa,” executive producer Andrew Schneider added.
Frolov teased that Chicago Med Season 7 Episode 12 contains a “major emergency.” This could potentially bring the shows together — but that’ll happen before Carver is slated to join the Chicago Fire Season 10 cast. With that said, we imagine Carver might be a part of a late-season crossover event. With Carver working in the paramedic department in Chicago Fire, her role might naturally lead over to Chicago Med.
It also makes sense for a crossover event to happen late in all three seasons. The One Chicago shows are slated to all get 10 more episodes each once they return, putting the season finales in late April or May 2022. Carver’s introduction to the cast could come close to the season finale.
When will ‘Chicago Fire’ Season 10 be back on?
When can fans see new episodes of Chicago Fire Season 10? According to One Chicago Center, Chicago Fire Season 10 airs new episodes starting on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022. The Winter Olympics air on NBC until Feb. 20, 2022. All of the One Chicago shows have been on hiatus since the end of January 2022 mostly due to the Olympics schedule.
Once Chicago Fire returns, fans can expect all of their favorite cast members (except Matt Casey) to also come back. We look forward to seeing what’s in store — and what occurs with Emma, the new cast member, for the remainder of the current season and beyond.
