So far in Chicago Fire Season 10, the romantic couples on the show haven’t had much luck at all. Sylvie Brett and Matt Casey are still together, but they have to date long-distance now that Casey moved to Oregan. Stella Kidd has also been absent for much of the season, leaving Kelly Severide feeling abandoned and hurt. However, thankfully episode 12 saw two relationships move forward in a positive and exciting way.

Stella Kidd and Kelly Severide rekindle their relationship

Stellaride is a fan favorite couple in the One Chicago universe. Kidd and Severide have known each other and worked together for quite some time. Their relationship is based on a deep friendship without the need for fanfare. In season 9, Severide proposed to Kidd in the middle of a fire and she accepted.

However, problems arose in Chicago Fire Season 10. Kidd took an extended leave of absence to run her Girls on Fire program in Boston. Weeks turned into months, and eventually, Kidd went radio silent on Severide. She returned in the fall finale, and Severide was understandably upset with her.

However, the couple has been making steps toward healing from this difficult time in their relationship. In Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 12, “Show of Force,” Severide and Kidd attend the CFD gala together. After Kidd makes a big move to protect Lieutenant Pelham’s job, she and Severide share a private moment together at the event. Severide tells Kidd that he was “blown away” by what she did for Pelham and gives her a ring to make their engagement even more official.

Violet Mikami and Chief Evan Hawkins finally kiss

Chicago Fire Season 10 introduced a new potential romantic couple that many fans have been hoping will get together. Violet Mikami and Blake Gallo were romantically involved in the past. However, jealousy and miscommunication caused them to break up. At different times after the breakup, the pair have both tried to express that they still have feelings for each other. However, they both keep getting interrupted.

Now Violet has a new love interest. Chief Evan Hawkins arrived in Chicago Fire Season 10 and he has been taking an apparent interest in Violet. When Hawkins nominated Violet for a paramedic award, Violet worried that he only did so because he was attracted to her.

While Hawkins assured her that he didn’t let personal feelings cloud his judgment at work, he suggested that the two shouldn’t spend so much time together. Hawkins was definitely hinting that he does have feelings for Violet which could put both their jobs in jeopardy.

However, Violet and Hawkins threw caution to the wind in episode 12. The pair ran into each other at the CFD gala and pretty much immediately started kissing. This relationship will definitely complicate things, but it’s a couple that many Chicago Fire fans have been hoping would get together.

Will Matt Casey and Silvie Brett stay together?

As of now, one of the only other unmarried Chicago Fire couples is Brett and Casey. The pair are maintaining a long-distance relationship now that Casey is in Oregon. Although long-distance relationships are never easy, showrunner Derek Haas hinted to US Weekly that the couple will make it work. “We’re going to keep it alive,” Haas told the outlet, pointing out that modern-day technology and “easy airline tickets” have made long-distance relationships much more realistic. Still, only time will tell if Brett and Casey stay together in the end.
