Brett Dalton joined the cast of ‘Chicago Fire’ Season 10 as Jason Pelham

Brett Dalton’s character Jason Pelham arrived at Firehouse 51 in Chicago Fire Season 10. He took over as temporary lieutenant on Truck 81 after Matthew Casey departed. Pelham had a mysterious past and a history of jumping from firehouse to firehouse. However, it turned out that several higher-ups were out to get Pelham because he confronted his superior for stealing from the scene of a fire.

Chief Boden and the rest of the Firehouse 51 crew stood up for Pelham against Don Kilbourne, who was trying to get Pelham fired. Boden promoted Pelham to permanent lieutenant, a position which he happily accepted. When a lieutenant position at another firehouse opened up, Stella Kidd jumped at the opportunity to take it. However, realizing that Kidd belongs on Truck 81, Pelham offers her his lieutenant position and decides to accept the open lieutenant position on Truck 72.

Pelham will be back before the end of the season

Chicago Fire fans quickly warmed up to Brett Dalton’s character. In fact, some fans were pretty disappointed that Kidd took over Pelham’s role at Firehouse 51. “I really liked Pelham’s character. He was a great addition to the cast especially after losing Casey. I thought there was a lot of potential for further stories and development,” one Reddit user wrote.

Luckily for Pelham fans though the character isn’t gone for good. “We’re going to see Pelham again before the season’s over,” executive producer Derek Haas told TVLine. Executive Producer Andrea Newman added, “The character proved such loyalty to [Firehouse] 51. It was really cool to see him bond and find his place there. And it’s nice to have him out in the world of the CFD.”

Every once in a while Firehouse 51 works alongside other firehouses, so it could be that Pelham will pop up to assist 51 on a call. Another possible scenario is that Pelham may be in attendance at Kidd and Severide’s wedding. Although Pelham wasn’t at 51 for long, he seems to have bonded with a lot of the team.

‘Chicago Fire’ Season 10 approaches its final episode

Pelham isn’t the only Chicago Fire character set to return before the end of season 10. NBC recently confirmed that Jesse Spencer will be back for the Stellaride wedding in the season finale, which is set to air on May 25.

Co-showrunner Derek Haas told Variety “The wedding is not going to go as planned. Plus, there’ll be at least one surprise guest at the wedding besides Jesse. It became a matter of how many people could we get in one day availability-wise, so we put together a wish list.” Perhaps Dalton will be one of the surprise guests in attendance.

Chicago Fire Season 10 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
