‘Chicago Fire’ Season 10: Who Is Mason? He’s Appeared Before Episode 19
NBC’s Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 19 looks like it’ll require all hands on deck. Given the promo, a major emergency hits a local school — and Mason’s back in action, too. So, who is Mason in the Chicago Fire cast? Whiel he’s not a series regular, he’s made a few appearances in the past. Here’s everything to know.
‘Chicago Fire’ Season 10 Episode 19 focuses on an emergency involving a fallen plane engine
Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 19 doesn’t appear to focus on just one main cast member. Rather, the emergency looks so serious that all members of Firehouse 51 will likely be needed. The promo for the episode, titled “Finish What You Started,” shows a fiery plane engine that crashed into the top of a school. The team will likely have to work together to safely removed the students from the situation.
“Plane from over here dropped an engine,” Chief Wallace Boden’s voiceover states in the episode promo.
“We’ve gotta get those students out, fast, “Stella Kidd tells the team — particularly talking to the firefighter Mason.
It seems there’s some upcoming conflict with Mason, though. “I’ve done it 100 times,” Mason tells the team in regards to their plan to save the students — but the firehouse seems unsure.
“That structure is collapsing,” Kidd says as the building starts to fall apart.
Who is Mason in ‘Chicago Fire’? He’s appeared on the show before episode 19
Given the Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 19 promo, it seems Mason, played by Chris Mansa, will have a pivotal role in the upcoming episode. So, who is Mason?
One Chicago Center reports Mason was first introduced in the season 9 episode, “Natural Born Firefighter.” After a fire broke out at a party, a mystery person put out the flames and saved the day. This turned out to be Mason. He’s responsible for saving the lives of many people at the party, capturing the attention of Firehouse 51. They then seek Mason out to learn more.
Mason explains to Christopher Herrmann that he moved from Colorado to Chicago to be closer to his family. But he can’t become a civilian firefighter due to a past felony. Additionally, he learned his firefighting skills in a prison program.
Stella Kidd doesn’t seem eager to hire Mason as a firefighter at first. But thanks to Herrmann, she reconsiders. Ultimately, she decides Mason is the right person to join the firehouse, and she even calls him the “missing piece.”
Episode 19 also centers around a new love interest for Kylie
According to One Chicago Center, Kylie Estevez has a new love interest in Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 19. The official synopsis for the episode reads, “Firehouse 51 tackles a fire caused by a dropped jet engine and one of their own is accused of a theft related to the incident. Kidd and Boden disapprove of Kylie’s potential new love interest.”
So, who’s after Kylie’s heart? We know she’s all-in with Stella Kidd’s Girls on Fire program, so we’re curious to see who might take her attention away from her job she loves so much. Could it possibly be Mason who captures Kylie’s heart? We’re unsure as of now, but given the synopsis and Mason’s resurgence to the show, it seems possible.
Chicago Fire Season 10 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
