When Stella Kidd returned to Firehouse 51 earlier in the season, fans wondered if she’d be gunning for Jason Pelham’s position. Chief Wallace Boden gave Pelham the lieutenant position due to Kidd’s absence. And once Kidd returned, she congratulated Pelham on the position that his hard work brought him. But it was clear she still had high hopes of becoming a lieutenant herself.
Kidd actor Miranda Rae Mayo told CinemaBlend that Kidd “1,000%” still hopes to nab the position. “I think that she wants to do well,” Mayo told the publication. “I think that that’s very important to her to do, once she steps into that position to be fully committed because that’s what that firehouse deserves.”
The Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 14 synopsis points to Kidd going for a lieutenant position, too. “Kidd pursues an open lieutenant position,” the plot synopsis reads, according to Reddit.

Photos released from NBC show Pelham talking intensely to Stella Kidd. They look to be in a casual setting at a bar, and Kidd looks at Pelham with concern. Given their positions, it looks like they’re talking closely and quietly, too. We imagine this could mean Pelham is telling Kidd he plans to resign or move to a different firehouse so she can take his position. Or, maybe Kidd tells Pelham they want to replace him with her.
Another photo from the episode shows Kidd talking privately with Chief Wallace Boden in his office. This could possibly point to Boden telling Kidd she’ll take over for Pelham.
Could Stella Kidd be the one to leave? She could pursue a lieutenant position elsewhere

It’s certainly possible the fan favorite could find a lieutenant position elsewhere. “I’m guessing this means Kidd might leave 51 since it says she’s pursuing an open spot which seems to disqualify Pelham’s position,” a Reddit user noted. But the plot synopsis for episode 15 notes Kidd is still around. “Kidd searches for the right person to fill the open spot on Truck 81,” the synopsis reads, according to Reddit.
The most likely scenario is that Kidd might be searching elsewhere for a lieutenant position, but ultimately, Pelham gives up the position to her in the end and he’s the one to leave. Fans will certainly find out soon.
