Episode 7 is titled “Whom Shall I Fear?” The episode brings Jason Pelham’s arrival to the forefront, but he runs into issues with Blake Gallo. One Chicago Center notes a miscommunication between Gallo and the newcomer put them both in a tough spot, especially with Gallo still feeling the effects of Matt Casey’s departure.
This episode also happens before Stella Kidd returns from Girls on Fire. Chief Wallace Boden discusses giving the lieutenant position to Pelham — and fans know he ends up doing this. Later on, though, Pelham decides to offer the position to Kidd upon her return. He chooses to work for a neighboring firehouse instead.

While fans will mourn the end of the season, there’s another season of Chicago Fire lined up. Deadline reports all three One Chicago shows were renewed for three additional seasons starting in 2020. This means Fire will get an 11th season, though it’s unclear what the network will decide after that.
Will Matt Casey return? Here’s what to know about the finale
The Chicago Fire Season 10 schedule dictates the season finale will happen on May 25. And Jesse Spencer fans can rejoice, as Matt Casey is officially returning for one last hurrah as the best man in Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd’s wedding.
“The juicy details are that we went to him and said, ‘You’re so loved on this show. And with the Severide wedding coming up, there’s no way Casey would miss seeing his best friend getting married. Come on, man!’” showrunner Derek Haas told Deadline about talking Spencer into returning. “So, he graciously agreed to come back for the finale.”
While fans can expect Matt Casey in the finale, they’ll have to say goodbye to him once season 10 concludes. “Casey committed to going to Oregon until one of the Darden boys finishes high school,” Haas noted. “That’s a three-year commitment he made when he left this season. He’s not coming back permanently to 51 anytime soon.”
