In the Oct. 27 episode of Chicago Fire, Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Wendy Seager (Andy Allo) teamed up to investigate a case of arson at a church. The pair’s search for the arsonist continues in the next installment of the NBC drama, “Whom Shall I Fear?,” which airs Nov. 3, and the pressure is on to find their suspect before he strikes again.

Severide and Seager investigated a church arson in ‘Chicago Fire’ Season 10 Episode 6

Fans last saw Seager, who works for the Office of Fire Investigation, back in season 8. She returned to Chicago Fire in Season 10’s sixth episode, “Dead Zone,” to help Severide with the investigation into the church fire from episode 5.

At first, it seemed like a disgruntled former student might have been behind the fire. However, he had an alibi. Then, suspicion fell on the parish priest, Father Anthony. But when Severide went to talk to him again, he discovered that someone had set the priest on fire. Though Severide bumped into the attacker on the stairs, he chose to save Father Anthony rather than chase the suspect. Though the priest survived the attack, he had to be put in a medically-induced coma, so he wasn’t able to provide any more details about who might be behind the fires.

Severide worries that the arsonist is ‘getting ready for something big’

The ongoing arson investigation looks like it will be a major storyline in “Whom Shall I Fear?” In a teaser for the upcoming episode (via YouTube), Severide worries the arsonist is planning another attack. And he suspects he’s only going to get bolder.

“The arsonist’s methods are escalating with every church he goes after,” he says. “He’s getting ready for something big.”

It looks like the arsonist might be planning to use a bomb to set off his next fire. And photos from the next episode show Severide and Seager standing in front of a burning, blown-out car. In another, Boden (Eamonn Walker) cradles a child while a car burns behind him.

In addition to the ongoing arson investigation, Chicago Fire fans will also meet the temporary replacement for the recently-departed Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) in “Whom Shall I Fear?”

The identity of Casey’s replacement is still a mystery. However, some fans suspect that he’ll be played by Agents of SHIELD alum Brett Dalton. They think the unidentified firefighter in the photo with Boden and the girl is Dalton.

While we don’t yet know who will be the new face in the firehouse, it sounds like his arrival could stir up some trouble. According to the episode description, the new lieutenant doesn’t exactly hit it off with Gallo (Alberto Rosende). But fans will have to tune in to the next episode to find out the source of the conflict.

Chicago Fire airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
