Season 10 of Chicago Fire is finally here, and fans hope to have their biggest questions answered right at the start of the season. The Chicago Fire Season 9 finale left viewers on a cliffhanger regarding Rescue Squad 3. The cour members of the squad attempted a capsized boat mission — but they were trapped underwater. Viewers curious about Chicago Fire Season 10 spoilers want to know what happens to Rescue Squad 3. At the end of season 9, Lieutenant Kelly Severide and firefighters Joe Cruz, Tony Ferraris, Harold Capp, attempt to help someone at sea on their sinking boat. They gear up with oxygen tanks and go out to the capsized boat — but they quickly realize they’re of luck when the boat collapses on them, trapping them inside.

The four members of Rescue Squad 3 successfully locate the victim, but now, they have bigger problems. Their oxygen tanks are running out, and they need to find a different way out of the boat after the collapse. Other Chicago Fire cast members remain on shore waiting to see Rescue Squad 3 emerge, but much to their horror, they continue to wait and wonder if the crew will drown.

‘Chicago Fire’ Season 10 spoilers: Who from Rescue Squad 3 lives through the mission?

So, who from Rescue Squad 3 lives through the terrifying boat mission? Viewers hoping for some Chicago Fire Season 10 spoilers should know the entire team gets out alive — but the mission gets super dangerous.

Episode 1 begins with the rescue mission. All four Rescue Squad 3 members are trapped underwater with the capsized boat victim, and those on land see the boat completely capsize. Then, the boat starts to turn underwater — and the divers find a pocket of air. They immediately swim to the pocket until they go for their next move.

Severide then goes to find a way out, and he uses the electrical system in the boat to blow it up underwater and create an escape path. The divers and the victim then make their way out — but Cruz is left floating in the water unconscious. Severide drags the unconscious Cruz to the surface. Just when it seems like Cruz won’t make it out alive, he’s resuscitated on the rescue boat. Cruz then makes his way to the hospital for further recovery.

‘Chicago Fire’: Where Is Firehouse 51 Located?

The season 10 premiere was intense for viewers to watch — and it certainly took a lot out of the actors to film. Severide actor Taylor Kinney talked to TV Insider about his experience getting back into filming the scene and what fans can expect for his character.

“We pick up where we left off. … It’s really exciting,” Kinney explains. “[The fans are] gonna love it. And I can’t speak for what happens or what’s going to happen, but I can at least say I make it. I’m here.”
