‘Chicago Fire’: Who Is Wendy Seager and Will She Be Back for More Episodes?
Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) left the Windy City for Portland in the 200th episode of Chicago Fire. It was hard not to notice his absence in the Oct. 27 episode, “Dead Zone,” which was the first without Casey as a regular cast member since the show premiered in 2012. But the return of a familiar face from season 8 helped to distract viewers from the missing Casey.

Wendy Seager first appeared in ‘Chicago Fire’ Season 8
The first episode of Chicago Fire since Casey’s exit featured the return of Lieutenant Wendy Seager (Andy Allo), who works with the Office of Fire Investigation.
Viewers were introduced to Wendy back in the season 8 episode “Welcome to Crazytown.” She went on to appear in a handful of episodes, teaming up with Severide (Taylor Kinney) on arson investigations, though the two sometimes butted heads.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Seager at Firehouse 51, but she returned in “Dead Zone,” again teaming up with Severide on an arson investigation. This time, the pair were looking into the suspicious church fire. That case was still unresolved at the end of the episode. But based on a teaser (via YouTube) for Chicago Fire’s next episode, the investigation heats up as it becomes clear the unknown arsonist is, per Severide, “getting ready for something big.”
Some ‘Chicago Fire’ fans aren’t happy about Seager’s return
After “Dead Zone” aired, some Chicago Fire fans took to social media to share their reactions to Seager’s return. Many weren’t thrilled to see the character back at Firehouse 51. They noticed that Seager was getting very flirty with Severide, even asking him out for a drink at the end of the episode. They feared she might swoop in and mess things up between him and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), who is currently out of town.
“I don’t like that lady hanging around Severide,” one fan tweeted. “She still has feelings. Don’t like it.”
“Can we please just bring Stella back?!?!? No we don’t won’t Severide w/the fire investigation lady,” another tweeted.
Is Andy Allo a permanent addition to the ‘Chicago Fire’ cast?
So, will Seager be sticking around (and possibly stirring up drama between Severide and Stella)? NBC hasn’t made any announcement about whether Allo is a permanent addition to the Chicago Fire cast or if she’s just back for a limited time. However, we can expect to see more of her in the short term. Seager can be seen in the teaser for “Whom Shall I Fear?,” which airs Nov. 3, so we know she’ll be back for at least one more episode.
Chicago Fire airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
