Not many shows have managed to spark as much fan love and interest as Chicago Fire and its other Chicago TV series. A large portion of this success can be contributed to the amazing characters and cast that have slipped into these roles so effortlessly. Most notably being David Eigenberg as Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann.

As season 10 approaches its upcoming air date, many have been left wondering whether their beloved Lieutenant will be making his 10th season premiere on Chicago Fire. Doubt has crept into many viewers since he was spotted on the set of And Just Like That, but good news has been confirmed since!

The Chicago Fire favorite has been in more than 60 films and shows — from A Perfect Murder and Garfield to The Mothman Prophecies and Killing Eleanor. However, none of them boosted his career quite like Chicago Fire and Sex and the City.

While many Sex and the City fans were concerned that Eigenberg’s love for his role in Chicago Fire would prevent him from reprising the role of Steve Brady, it has been confirmed that that won’t be the case.

In fact, he’s been seen filming And Just Like That in New York just this year. There’s no say on just how big his role will be in the HBO Max reboot, but some fans are speculating an early death.

While we’re hoping that is not the case because, let’s face it, we cannot get enough of Steve — this has left many wondering about Chicago Fire’s season 10 with Herrmann.

HBO Max’s reboot won’t disrupt the production of ‘Chicago Fire’

This recent news that the Hollywood star will be coming back for the Sex and the City reboot has now caused an opposite reaction to before. Since fans know they will still see their beloved Steve Brady, more fans are now worried they won’t get their taste of Herrmann in the Chicago Fire

Good news! We will be lucky enough to get both!

Despite the fact that Eigenberg was recently spotted shooting the much-anticipated HBO Max reboot in New York City while Chicago Fire’s season 10 production is taking place in Chicago — we will have the pleasure of seeing Engine 51’s firefighter and company officer, Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann, once again.

In fact, One Chicago Center reports that “fans can breathe a sigh of relief in knowing Eigenberg is not leaving NBC’s One Chicago drama. While the specifics of Eigenberg’s arrangement are unclear, it appears he’ll simply be traveling back and forth between the two cities for a few weeks as filming unfolds on HBO Max’s 10-episode revival series.”

‘Chicago Fire’: What We’re Hoping for in Season 10

At the end of season 9, we were met with a lot of uncertainty and tragedy as a crazy cliffhanger left Capp, Cruz, and Tony trapped by a collapsed boat that’s blocking their path to safety, and Casey and Brett fight for their undeniable love for each other.

Herrmann, on the other hand, isn’t hard up with any drama or uncertainty that would suggest we should be concerned about his character in the coming season. In fact, One Chicago Center reveals that “we can expect Molly’s to once again serve as the backdrop to plenty of new scenes this season and to see Herrmann once again behind the bar when he’s not out protecting and serving the city of Chicago alongside his 51 family.”

Be aware, there is speculation that Eigenberg will have a limited role in the early episodes of Chicago Fire’s season 10 to accommodate his part in the Sex and the City reboot — but you can rest assured he’ll be back to his usual antics in the episodes that follow.
