‘Chicago Med’ Executive Producer Teases ‘Awkward’ Situation for Dr. Crockett Marcel in the Fall Finale
It’s almost time for the fall finale of Chicago Med Season 7, and it looks like plenty of drama is in store. The fall finale titled “Secret Santa Has a Gift for You” has a holiday theme, but it won’t be all festive cheer. Dr. Crockett Marcel has been forming a close relationship with both his mentor Dr. Pamela Blake and her daughter Avery Quinn. Chicago Med‘s executive producers have teased an uncomfortable situation for Crockett in the fall finale.

Chicago Med Season 7 introduced Johanna Braddy’s character Avery in episode 5, “Change Is a Tough Pill to Swallow.” Avery is admitted to the hospital after an injury, and suddenly transplant surgeon Pamela Blake wants to take over the case.
Blake reveals that Avery is her daughter and insists on performing her surgery. However, it is against Gaffney Chicago Medical Center’s policy to allow a doctor to operate on a family member.
Crockett and Blake immediately butt heads. However, later Crockett considers applying for a fellowship in transplant surgery, and Blake becomes a kind of mentor for him. Things get even more complicated when Avery asks Crockett out on a date after her release from the hospital. Crockett accepts, but it sounds like Avery isn’t the only one Crockett is attracted to.
‘Chicago Med’ executive producers tease drama for Dr. Crockett Marcel
Blake and her daughter Avery will both be making an appearance in the fall finale of Chicago Med Season 7. Executive Producer Diane Frolovhas confirmed that it’s not just Avery that Crockett has an attraction to. “I think it’s pretty clear that Crockett is attracted to Blake and also to her daughter,” Frolovhas told TVLine.
Avery is obviously pretty into Crockett. They go on a date in episode 8, and Avery invites him back to her place for a nightcap, though Crockett says he has to be up early. Blake also texts Crockett while he is on the date, asking him to meet her at Med. She is upset when he decides not to scrub in, questioning whether Crockett is taking his career seriously.
This uncomfortable situation could come to a head in episode 9. Executive Producer Andrew Schneider teased that things will get “more awkward” for Crockett in the fall finale and that his mentorship with Dr. Blake “muddies things up,” TVLine reports.
When does the ‘Chicago Med’ Season 7 fall finale air?
The fall finale of Chicago Med Season 7 airs tonight, Dec. 8 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. The new episode will be available the following day on the streaming service Peacock. Episodes of Chicago Med are also available on FuboTV. Fans will have to watch the fall finale to see how Crockett’s relationships with Avery and Blake turn out.
