‘Chicago Med’ Season 7 Star Kristen Hager Has Exciting News
Chicago Med Season 7 has been missing one of its newest members in the last few episodes. Kristen Hager joined the cast as Dr. Stevie Hammer in season 7, but she has been absent from episodes 15 and 16. Although the show has an explanation for the character’s absence, many fans were beginning to wonder if Hager is leaving Chicago Med for good. The actor recently made an exciting announcement on social media that could shed some light on her absence.
Kristen Hager plays Dr. Stevie Hammer in ‘Chicago Med’ Season 7
Hager joined the cast of Chicago Med Season 7 to play Dr. Stevie Hammer. Dr. Hammer went to medical school with Will Halstead and the two are reacquainted when she gets a job at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. At first, it seemed like there was potential for romance between Hammer and Halstead.
Hammer revealed that she is in the process of divorcing her husband, who lives in Michigan. However, after visiting her husband, Hammer decides to give her marriage another shot. She gets a job in Michigan and moves to be with him. Hager was last seen in Chicago Med Season 7 Episode 14.
Hager announces her pregnancy on Instagram
Chicago Med fans have been wondering why Hager was absent from the past two episodes, and now the reason seems clear. Hager recently announced her pregnancy on Instagram last week. The actor posted a photo of herself sporting a pretty obvious baby bump.
Hager’s husband Matt Jones posted the same photo. He captioned the picture, jokingly writing, “She’s five months sober.” With four more months to go in the pregnancy, it seems possible that Hager could be absent for the rest of the season.
However, the actor has not publicly made a statement about her future with Chicago Med. Plenty of TV shows have found ways to hide actors’ pregnancies during filming, and Chicago Med may follow suit. Or perhaps fans will have to wait until next season to see Hager again.
Dr. Asher returns to ‘Chicago Med’
During Kristen Hager’s absence from Chicago Med, the show reintroduced a familiar face. Jessy Schram portrayed Dr. Asher in seasons 5 and 6 of the show. Asher left to go to rehab and get her addiction under control. In season 7 episode 16, Sharon Goodwin decided to hire her to help get a new emergency OBGYN service in the ED off the ground. Asher is nearly two years sober and appears to be in a good place.
It’s possible that her return could also serve to fill in the spot left by Hager’s absence. Asher was even romantically involved with Halstead in the past. It will be interesting to see how this dynamic plays out, particularly if Hammer returns and decides not to stay with her husband after all.
