‘Chicago P.D.’ Season 9: Is the Show New Tonight, Nov. 17?
Chicago P.D. Season 9 is getting ultra-intense for Jay Halstead, Hailey Upton, and Hank Voight. At the end of season 8, Upton killed Roy Walton, the assailant who shot Kim Burgess twice in the stomach, and Voight did away with Roy’s body. All through season 9, Upton’s grappled with the killing. And now, she, Voight, and Halstead have the opportunity to come clean to federal agents about what went down. So, is Chicago P.D. new tonight, Nov. 17, 2021? Unfortunately, fans will have to wait to see the stunning conclusion of this storyline.
‘Chicago P.D.’ Season 9 Episode 9 will require Jay Halstead to make a major decision
Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton are currently engaged, but now that Halstead knows the truth about Roy, everything they’ve built could be in jeopardy. Halstead tracked down Hank Voight to learn the truth about Roy. And in Chicago P.D. Season 9 Episode 8, Halstead gets pulled aside by FBI Agent North, One Chicago Center reminds us.
North knows something went down between the Intelligence Unit and Roy, and he also knows exactly where Roy’s body was left by Voight. He confronts Halstead alone after telling Halstead he knows enough about Roy’s disappearance to know Upton and Voight were also involved. North gives Halstead a choice — he can either rat Voight out to the feds, or he can take the blame, and the fall, with Upton by his side. We expect the Chicago P.D. Season 9 finale to focus on Halstead’s decision.

Is Chicago P.D. new tonight, Nov. 17, 2021, so fans can see exactly what Jay Halstead decides to tell Agent North? Unfortunately, fans will have to wait for the conclusion of the storyline. The One Chicago Twitter posted an update about new episodes for fans on Nov. 15, 2021. The tweet showed two Chicago Fire Season 10 cast members with text saying, “New episodes return Dec. 8.”
“We’re just as bummed as you are,” the additional text reads.
Why will fans have to wait a few weeks for new Chicago P.D. Season 9 content? NBC’s One Chicago holiday break is officially underway. This means Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, and Chicago Med will all return in December.
In the meantime, fans can catch up on reruns of season 9. NBC airs Chicago P.D. Season 9 Episode 1 during its usual 10 p.m. EST timeslot on Nov. 17, 2021.
When is the ‘Chicago P.D.’ Season 9 finale?
As for the Chicago P.D. Season 9 finale, it seems that also happens on Dec. 8, 2021. Season 9 Episode 9 will serve as the fall season finale before the show goes on another break and returns again in January 2022, One Chicago Center reports.
With this in mind, fans can certainly expect the Roy storyline with Jay Halstead, Hailey Upton, and Hank Voight to come to some sort of natural conclusion in December 2021. Will Kim Burgess, Adam Ruzek, and Kevin Atwater find out the truth about Roy during the season finale as well? And will Halstead, Upton, or Voight lose their badges over what’s occurred? There are still plenty of questions we need answered, so we look forward to hearing more.
