Chip and Joanna Gaines Announce ‘Fixer Upper’ Reboot and Fans — Including Anna Duggar — Are Thrilled
Fixer Upper is back. Chip and Joanna Gaines are rebooting their hit HGTV series for the Magnolia Network. The Texas couple made the big announcement August 4, delighting fans of the home renovation show who have missed the pair’s quirky charm since the original series ended its run in April 2018.
“The day we wrapped our final episode of Fixer Upper, we really believed it was a chapter closed. We knew we needed a break and a moment to catch our breath. But we also knew we weren’t done dreaming about ways to make old things new again,” Chip and Joanna said in a statement.
“These past few years, we’ve continued tackling renovations and projects, doing the work we’re passionate about, but I don’t think either of us anticipated how the show would become such a permanent fixture in our hearts,” they added. “We’ve missed sharing the stories of these families and their homes with you, and we’re excited to do that again very soon!”
Anna Duggar is excited about the return of ‘Fixer Upper’
A premiere date for the revival of the Waco-set series hasn’t been announced. However, it should debut with the launch of the Magnolia Network, which is set for 2021. While we don’t yet know when new episodes will be available, both Chip and Joanna’s Instagram accounts were flooded with enthusiastic comments after they announced their plans to return to television.
Among those who are excited about the return of Fixer Upper is Anna Duggar. The wife of Josh Duggar (who sometimes appears on TLC’s Counting On) replied to Chip’s announcement with a series of hand-clap emojis.
The Duggars love Chip and Joanna Gaines
Anna’s love for Chip and Joanna’s show will likely come as no surprise to those who follow the Duggars. Several members of the family have posted on social media about visiting Magnolia Market and other Waco businesses owned by the Gaineses.
In June 2019, Jana Duggar shared that she’d traveled more than 400 miles to visit Magnolia Market. Jana’s younger sister Jinger also visited the Silos when she lived in Texas, possibly more than once. In one post, she called it “the perfect stop for lunch and dessert with someone you love.”
Anna and her family have also visited Waco. The mom of six shared some photos from their trip in 2018.
“Friday we traveled 436 miles to reach Waco and had a wonderful visit at the Silos!” she wrote on Instagram. “Our kids had fun playing corn toss with dad, while mom went shopping! A group of us had an amazing lunch at Magnolia Table. After lunch was finished, Mason was ready for a nap and mom was ready for coffee (a mom’s nap in cup!). Thanks Chip & Joanna for your investment in Waco… our family made many special memories!”
Anna’s sister-in-law Jessa Duggar is another member of the family who can’t get enough of Chip and Joanna. Back in 2016, she shared a video of herself and son Spurgeon watching Fixer Upper, commenting “I may just be addicted.”
