Home improvement reality stars usually teach viewers how to save a buck on home renovation, selling, and buying. But most are making some bucks— a lot of serious bucks.

For instance, Chip and Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper have become a household name for their no-nonsense, family-friendly approach to home transformations. For five years, the couple helped a slew of families create their dream home on a budget using their complementary approach to home building and design.

The couple has amassed a nice fortune in the process, each worth a cool $10 million apiece, according to GoBankingRates. In addition to their series, the couple’s vast company, Magnolia includes real estate, home improvement, and design services. With $20 million in combined wealth, the couple won’t have to worry about money. But they aren’t the wealthiest in the business.

Some home improvement gurus are worth more individually

While the couple is worth more together than a few other home renovation and real estate reality personalities, others have a net worth that exceeds just Chip or Joanna Gaines individually.

For instance, Christina Anstead, formerly of Flip or Flop holds her own at $12 million, GoBankingRates reports. She used to be married to Tarek el Moussa when the couple starred in Flip or Flop. But her net worth reportedly exceeds his. According to Celebrity Net Worth, his wealth, while still extremely healthy is at $10 million.

Anstead has been on other shows including, Brother vs. Brother and Christina on the Coast. She is also the author of the book, “The Wellness Remodel,” which was released out on April 14.

Also, at $12 million is the breakout star handyman, Ty Pennington. Pennington was at the forefront of the home improvement craze when he was featured on the series Trading Spaces. The series hit big back in 2000 and ran through 2008. Pennington and co-host Paige Davis returned with the show in 2018. Pennington is most recently known for hosting the uber-popular, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

These home improvement stars may be the wealthiest reality stars of all

In addition to topping the GoBankingRates list of wealthiest home improvement stars, Property Brothers may be the wealthiest reality stars of all. Drew and Johnathon Scott, known as Property Brothers are worth $100 million— each.

Beyond Property Brothers, they have two additional shows, Property Brothers: Buying and Selling and Brother vs. Brother. Additionally, they “have a production company, Brothers Entertainment, and a line of indoor and outdoor furniture and decor, the Scott Living Collection,” according to GoBankingRates.

The brothers love to put their sibling rivalry on display. This could get interesting as Johnathan Scott may end up outranking his brother in wealth. He is currently engaged to actress Zooey Deschanel. Her net worth stands at about $25 million, which would give him an advantage over his real estate broker brother.

But the guys have some serious wealth regardless of their reality industry. Not only do they outrank Lisa Vanderpump from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills at $75 million, but they also far exceed mogul Bethenny Frankel from The Real Housewives of New York City. She currently stands at $40 million.
