Who Is Chloe Kim’s Boyfriend Evan Berle?
Before she was even 18 snowboarder Chloe Kim competed on the world stage, won an Olympic gold medal, and posted one of the most famous tweets of the 2018 Winter Games letting everyone know she was “hangry.”
Now, fans are following her and her Twitter account again closely as she competes in the halfpipe and looks to repeat her success from four years ago. Here’s more about Kim and her boyfriend Evan Berle.
Kim dated another snowboarder before Berle
Before she began dating Berle, Kim was in a relationship with fellow snowboarder and Shaun White’s protégé Toby Miller. They even walked the red carpet together at the 2019 ESPYS. However, things between them didn’t work out and in 2021, Kim had a new man by her side at the award show but by then many fans had already seen pics of Berle popping up on social media.
On Jan. 1, 2021, Kim announced their anniversary and posted a series of photos with Berle via Instagram writing: “Happy anniversary bubs! You’re pretty funny and I’m not sick of you yetttt.. hehe. Seriously the best quarantine buddy I could ask for and am so grateful for you. Love you lots.”
The Olympic gold medalist met Berle through mutual friends. He is from Santa Monica, California, and co-founded a media commerce company called Togethxr to promote diversity and equality in sports. In the summer of 2020, Kim and Berle moved into a house together in Los Angeles which happens to be just a few blocks away from where Kim’s parents live.
Berle’s an athlete as well and teaching Kim another competitive sport
Berle is an athlete just like his girlfriend. He’s a skateboarder and snowboarder as well. But Kim revealed that he’s into golfing too and has been teaching her that sport.
“My boyfriend’s a big golfer, and we kind of started going together, and I’m kind of like talented at it. Like, I don’t know any golfers, but like Tiger Woods needs to watch himself, ”she joked via Time.
Kim also said that she’s got skills when it comes to playing tennis too. “I’m a tennis star,” she quipped, adding, “Serena [Williams], I’m coming for ya.”
Kim calls fellow Olympian Simone Biles ‘inspirational’
In a profile piece for Time Magazine, Kim discussed fellow Olympian Simone Biles‘ decision to withdraw from the competition during the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Kim explained that Biles’ choice to pull out of the competition rather than risk injury is a source of strength for her and many other athletes. “Having that comfort knowing that, ‘Hey, I’m doing something really dangerous, or I’m doing something that is hard on my body, if I mentally can’t do it, then I shouldn’t. It’s in my best interest. Showing the world that you have to put yourself first and give up something like an Olympic gold medal. That was very touching and inspirational,” Kim said.
The snowboarder also spoke about how she plans to outdo her competition in Beijing and bring home another gold. “I’m so excited,” she stated, adding, “Don’t have too many expectations. Just let me vibe. I’m just trying to chill … No, I’m just kidding. You just expect a lot out of me. I’m going to go off!”
