It’s been a rough week for Bachelor Nation breakups. After The Bachelorette stars Clare Crawley and Dale Moss confirmed their split, The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart winners, Bri Stauss and Chris Watson, called it quits in a joint statement. Here’s what the musicians said about the breakup.
Chris Watson and Bri Stauss met on ‘The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart’
When the first season of The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart started back in April 2020, fans knew Chris and Bri were the ones to watch. The couple hit it off on night one. Then as the show progressed, they only grew stronger. Meanwhile, the musicians knocked every performance out of the park. So, it didn’t come as a surprise when Chris and Bri won the competition in the season finale.
Now, Chris and Bri did not get engaged on The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart. That said, the reality stars opened up about their future together when speaking with Entertainment Tonight after the finale.
“I’m not trying to get married tomorrow. And I know Bri isn’t either,” Chris said in May 2020. “We’re not trying to get married next month. But in the future, for sure.”
Chris and Bri also continued working on music together, even releasing an album and Christmas EP. Meanwhile, the couple expected to go on a national tour following the big win. However, it was postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Bri and Chris confirm their breakup eight months after ‘The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart’ finale
On Jan. 19, E! News revealed Bri and Chris broke up eight months after the Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart finale. The publication shared a joint statement from the couple.
“With deep admiration and respect for one another, we have decided to end our relationship and go our separate ways,” Chris and Bri said in the statement. “We will always look back on our journey with deep fondness, and will continue to support each other both personally and professionally.”
The Bachelor Nation alums also shared the news with their Instagram and Twitter followers. Chris and Bri wrote:
Hey fam. It pains us to say this, but we have made the difficult decision to go our separate ways. We met and fell in love in the most beautiful and unique way, and because of that, we have a special bond that we will cherish forever. Thank you for the love and support to our fans, friends, family, and in particular, Bachelor Nation. You made this entire experience so special and unforgettable.
Will Chris and Bri still make music together after their split?

Despite their recent split, it seems Chris and Bri are still friends and will maintain their professional relationship. In the statement published by E! News, the Bachelor Nation stars revealed they would share “updates” with their fans in regards to making music together.
Meanwhile, Chris and Bri hinted at their future plans.
“We still hope to make music and tour together in the future, but for now we ask for privacy as we navigate the next chapter,” Bri and Chris wrote.
The Bachelor Season 25 airs Monday nights on ABC.
