Chrishell Stause Dishes On Her DMs Since Justin Hartley Split
Dating in today’s modern times is more complicated than ever. First, there are so many ways to meet someone. And thanks to the coronavirus (COVID-19), most people aren’t comfortable meeting in person for at least the first few dates. Being single in 2020 is harder than ever. Even Chrishell Stause, the beautiful star of Netflix’s reality TV show Selling Sunset may be having a hard time finding love. It doesn’t help that her divorce from This Is Us star Justin Hartley is still so fresh.
Chrishell Stause was dumped by text message
Poor Stause. Thanks to the timing of her divorce, she was filmed during one of the most difficult moments of her life. First, in November, her husband Hartley texted her to tell her he’d filed for divorce. Shortly after she received the text, the tabloids knew as well. It wasn’t easy for Stause, and she admits that she may have been filmed during some ugly moments. She’s not happy about that, but she’s not dwelling on it either.
According to Stause, a public, reality TV divorce is no cake walk. “It’s not a comfortable thing to live in front of everyone. If I’m being 100 percent honest with you, it’s friggin’ awkward,” Stause said, according to Bustle. “They were there and some of it is going to be shown and I’m dreading that.” But she’s not crying over spilled milk. “I really try to stay positive and I try to focus on moving forward and I don’t want to be stuck with things that happened in the past.”
Justin Hartley may have already moved on
Unfortunately for Stause, Hartley added insult to injury by moving on very quickly with his former co-star Sofia Pernas. The two worked together on The Young and the Restless, and some fans have found the timing to be very suspicious. There have been rumors that Hartley was actually with Pernas before divorcing Stause, and that he may have cheated on his ex-wife with his current girlfriend.
Hartley told Stause he was filing for divorce in November 2019. By May 2020, he and Pernas were official. But it’s likely they were dating long before that. Stause hasn’t officially commented on the rumors that Hartley cheated on her, but she has dropped hints on social media.
Chrishell Stause has hinted she may be starting to date again
Stause was blindsided by her divorce. Plus, she lost both her parents within a short time frame. Her father passed in April of 2019, and her mother lost her battle to cancer. That, plus the fact that the coronavirus has complicated dating for the foreseeable future, is enough to turn anyone off from finding love. But Stause may be ready to get back in the dating game. She jokingly said that the one celebrity she’d like to date is Brad Pitt. “And we know he’s single, so there you go. It’s so cliché, but it’s a cliché for a reason.”
But Stause is getting a lot of attention from potential suitors on Instagram. “Instagram DMs seem to be a popular thing that I didn’t know about because I was [with Justin] for so long. It’s a fun fact that I’m learning now.” Any dates she goes on will probably be virtual for now, but that doesn’t mean that Stause can’t lay the foundation of a relationship online. Considering Stause is gorgeous, famous, rich, and nice, it’s no surprise that guys are lining up in her inbox.
