Chrissy Teigen Calls Out ‘Weird’ Man For Tweeting About Taylor Swift’s Fertility
Chrissy Teigen’s defending Taylor Swift against a Twitter troll.
While scrolling through Twitter on Dec. 9, 2019, the two-time cookbook author noticed a tweet from Stefan Molyneux, who commented on Swift’s upcoming 30th birthday and hinted she should have a family soon because her biological clock is ticking.
“I can’t believe Taylor Swift is about to turn 30 – she still looks so young!” he wrote. “It’s strange to think that 90% of her eggs are already gone – 97% by the time she turns 40 – so I hope she thinks about having kids before it’s too late! She’d be a fun mom. :)”
Teigen, 34, who has two children — Luna, 3, and Miles, 1 — with her husband, musician John Legend, retweeted the Molyneux’s message, saying, “Uhhhh you’re a f**kin weird a**.”
Her comment has since garnered more than 300,000 likes, upwards of 21,000 retweets, with those numbers only continuing to grow.
She has a Twitter following of 12 million people and is known for her candid tweets. Teigen had been on Twitter doing an #AMA, or Ask Me Anything, where she opened up about whether or not she talks to other famous people, dealing with the paparazzi, and the airport perk she uses when traveling that’s only available to celebrities.
Twitter reactions: Comment ‘creepy’ and ‘weird’
Once Teigen sent the tweet out to her followers, people began chiming in with their feelings on the message about Swift’s fertility.
One person wrote that he has a “super creepy and unhealthy interest in young women’s egg status,” while others replied with similar feelings calling it “weird.”
“I can’t believe a grown man spends his time thinking about the amount of eggs a [sic] woman, unconnected to him, has left in her ovaries, giving her unsolicited advice about her biological clock,” another person tweeted.
Taylor Swift didn’t respond to tweet
While many people responded to the tweet that got Teigen’s attention, one person has been absent from the clap backs.
Swift, who released a new holiday song, “Christmas Tree Farm,” on Dec. 6, 2019, didn’t respond to the tweet or support from Teigen. However, Molyneux has been defending what he said by replying to tweets in the hours since Teigen retweeted him.
But she has, in the past, commented on being pressured to start a family soon.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Swift addressed it during a May 2019 interview with Deutsche Presse-Agentur. The “Lover” singer had been asked during her conversation with the publication if turning 30 — Swift’s birthday is Dec. 13, 2019, — marks a “turning point” for her and if she’s ready to have kids with her boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn.
“I really do not think men are asked that question when they turn 30. So I’m not going to answer that question now,” she said, according to fans who translated Swift’s remarks.
While Swift prepares for what we’re sure will be an epic 30th birthday party, Teigen will continue being herself and clap back harder than anyone else on Twitter.
