Twitter is the social medium of choice for former model Chrissy Teigen. John Legend’s wife is active on the app; lucky for Twitter users, Teigen is a delight, even in the confines of 280 characters. In November, she tweeted out the “most unprofessional thing” she’d ever done in a workplace. It was dark.

Teigen retweeted an image that posed the question, “What’s the most unprofessional thing you’ve done at work?” Responses varied, from the lazy to the angelic, to the downright hilarious.

In her retweet, Teigen wrote her own answer: “when they made me fill the register with my own money because it was off at the end of the night.”

As if that company’s request wasn’t awful enough, she added an additional memory: “also, eating from the trash.”

While we’re not sure exactly where she worked, she clarified, these instances happened at “2 different jobs.” Thank goodness for that, at least. Still, Twitter had questions.

“The actual trash or the things you were supposed to throw away???” one tweeter asked.

“No like from the trash bag,” the former Sports Illustrated model replied. The follower responded to Teigen’s horrifying answer with sympathy: “Jesus I’m so sorry you were ever that down in life.”

Another tweeter asked an essential question: what did Teigen eat?

Teigen replied, saying that while she couldn’t remember the exact name of the restaurant, the grub itself was indelible in her memory.

“They made house made potato chips with a chipotle bbq sauce. This was my lunch every day for a year,” she wrote. But she didn’t buy this meal. It came from the garbage can.

“Someone threw it out and I pulled the pins and tags out and ate it 5 hours later,” Teigen tweeted. Yikes.

Other followers took the tweet as an opportunity to dunk on Teigen a bit.

“Ask your mom to fill the register with used air pods next time,” one follower joked.

Ever the deadpan tweeter, Teigen replied, “I don’t work there anymore.”

Chrissy Teigen, age 33, recently got in internet trouble for tweeting about her mom

Last week, Teigen tweeted that her mom, Vilailuck Teigen, constantly loses her Apple AirPods.

The former model wrote, “my mom treats her air pods like they’re disposable.” Teigen joked that her mother “buys a few a month,” but claims “they would be easier to not lose if they had….a cord.”

After getting some heat due to the flippant way she referred to buying multiple pairs of $150 headphones, Teigen followed up with another tweet.

“Oh man I haven’t checked my mentions for a bit and I didn’t realize how many people were super pissed off about this,” she tweeted. The Lip Sync Battle host defended herself but understood the public’s frustration. You know, given wealth inequality, and all.

“It was meant as a joke (and exaggeration) about how my mom doesn’t realize air pods are with a cord are headphones but it came across as super tone deaf and icky.”

Teigen took another tweet to apologize, writing, “I promise I hate disappointing or pissing you guys off.”
