Chrissy Teigen Says John Legend Is a Great Modern Day Girl Dad
Chrissy Teigen is known among her fans as the “queen of Twitter,” a former model and home cooking icon. She is beloved for her habit of speaking her mind openly and honestly, even when discussing difficult subjects. One thing that Teigen has always been open about is motherhood and the two children that she shares with her husband, John Legend. Recently, Teigen talked to Glamour magazine about her children, and what a great “girl dad” Legend is.
When did Chrissy Teigen and John Legend get married?
Teigen and Legend go way back, especially considering the high rate of failed relationships in Hollywood. The two met in 2007 when Teigen was cast as a video model in Legend’s music video “Stereo.” They experienced an immediate connection and stayed in communication all throughout Legend’s world tour following the filming of the video.
Over the next several years, Teigen and Legend became a fixture at many red carpet events. Although many picked them as an unlikely couple — Teigen is feisty and talkative while Legend is much more measured and restrained — they defied the odds and ended up getting engaged in 2011.
Their 2013 wedding was a celebrity-studded affair in Lake Como. At the reception, Legend serenaded his new bride with a hit song that he had written just for her: “All Of Me.”

Teigen and Legend have packed a lot of life in the years since they have been married. In April 2016, after about three years of marriage, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Luna Simone. Two years later, Teigen and Legend added to their family when their son, Miles Theodore, was born.

Teigen and Legend love being parents and could eventually welcome another child in the future, but for now, they seem quite content with Luna and Miles.

Teigen is a lot like other parents in the world, dealing with pressures from society and fluctuations in day-to-day expectations. Still, in the “Me Too” era, Teigen knows that she is fortunate to have an ally in her husband. In a recent interview with Glamour magazine, Teigen praised her husband for being a great father.
She stated: “He is an amazing father for a girl who’s becoming a woman in this day and age, because we have a firm belief she is going to take ownership of her body. And we’re going to talk to [the kids] the best we can, whether that’s sex, drugs…”
Teigen continued: “We are going to talk to her in the same way we would have loved to hear it. We don’t really censor ourselves in talking about bodies. We don’t have that taboo that goes along with saying the word ‘penis’ or ‘vagina’, it’s silly. And you make sure your boy is the ultimate feminist, that he loves and respects women. You have to raise them to be feminists. That is our future.”
Clearly, both Teigen and Legend are well prepared for what their parenting future might look like.
