Chrissy Teigen’s Decadent Skincare Routine Includes an $8 Drugstore Find
Supermodels have such flawless skin that we can only assume that there are only two possible options for how they manage it: they’re either from another planet, or they spend thousands of dollars on their skincare routine. Either way, that level of beauty feels unattainable for the rest of us ordinary folk.
As it turns out, neither is true for supermodel and author Chrissy Teigen. She’s not an alien, and Teigen recently revealed that she uses some of the same affordable skincare products as the rest of us, including one drugstore classic that we’re all familiar with.
Who is Chrissy Teigen?
Many people might have been introduced to Teigen as legendary music star John Legend’s wife, but Teigen is a superstar in her own right, too. She’s had a successful modeling career, even appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and has published two cookbooks: Cravings and Cravings: Hungry For More.
Perhaps what she’s best-known for, however, is her sense of humor, which fans regularly get a taste of on her Twitter account. She’s famously gotten into Twitter feuds with Donald Trump, with many fans rallying behind her in support.
Teigen’s relationship with Legend has also proven newsworthy in and of itself. Theirs is one of Hollywood’s few fairytale romances; they’ve been married since 2013 and were dating for several years before that. They have two kids together and generously share glimpses of their beautiful family life for fans, which is endearingly relatable. It’s clear these two are far from being divas.
Teigen’s skincare routine
Yes, Teigen is funny, witty, and smart — but it’s also undeniable that she’s gorgeous. She is a supermodel, after all.
Fans were dying to know how she achieves that constant glow, and she recently answered their pleas by going on Instagram to list every single product in her skincare regime. “For you kind folks asking me to drop the skincare regimen, I will admit I am def proud of my skin lately and feeling myself!” she started before listing specific products.
For her cleansing and moisturizing, Teigen shared that she uses products from iS Clinical. She uses Control Corrective for daily SPF protection. These are both mid-range products, but Teigen also uses some more expensive products from La Mer. “$$, I know I know but I gotta be honest,” she wrote about her choice to use La Mer products.
She also gets facials at Dr. Jason Diamond’s office, and uses a special firm and fade cream created by Dr. Simon Ourian when she’s “feeling icks”. Although all of this adds up to be about $800, she shared that the only things she uses regularly are the iS Clinical products, which are surprisingly affordable.
Teigen’s uses a drugstore classic for her skin
There was one item on Teigen’s list, however, that was surprising, considering that you can find it for less than $10 at any drugstore: Biore’s Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. These strips have long been popular with beauty-seekers everywhere for their blackhead-cleansing ability, leaving pores unclogged and squeaky clean.
It sounds like Teigen is no exception to needing her clear out her pores – even supermodels get blackheads! She wrote that she uses a “steady stream” of these strips to keep her pores looking fresh and blackhead-free. The instructions say that they’re meant to be used weekly, and it sounds like Teigen is using them that regularly, if not more.
Although most of us probably can’t afford skincare products from La Mer, we might be able to get a tiny bit closer to Teigen’s goddess-like skin if we just invest in some of these Biore strips! Teigen definitely won our hearts with this pick – she couldn’t be more relatable if she tried.
