Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa continued co-parenting and working together on ‘Flip or Flop’ after their divorce
Before becoming HGTV stars, Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack got married in 2009 and had two children together. They share a daughter named Taylor, born in 2010, and a son named Brayden, born in 2015.
The couple worked together in real estate until 2008, when the economic crisis forced them to move from a $6,000/month home into a $700/month apartment (per Redbook). They started flipping houses, and El Moussa sent a video showing their first flip to HGTV. The audition tape launched Flip or Flop, which started airing in 2013 and ran for 10 highly successful seasons.
But Haack and El Moussa’s relationship didn’t last as long as their hit show, and their divorce was finalized in 2018. They continued working together on Flip or Flop after separating, and the show’s final episode aired in March 2022.

In February 2021, People reported that Christina Haack went on vacation with Tarek El Moussa’s family. She and their two children went to Utah’s Deer Valley Resort with El Moussa’s mother.
Haack posted photos from the trip in a since-deleted Instagram post. “Modern Family ❄️ thank you Tarek for letting me borrow your mama!” the Christina on the Coast star wrote in the caption. She even tagged El Moussa’s fiancée, Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young.
El Moussa’s mother kept her Instagram post documenting the family vacation. On Feb. 12, 2021, she shared a video of Haack and her son Brayden going down a snowy hill in tubes.
“Enjoying time with the grandkids in Deer Valley,” El Moussa’s mother captioned the clip. “It is snowing. So beautiful. I love it. Playing like a kid going down huge hills in tubes.”
The ‘Flip or Flop’ star said the divorce caused tension with her parents
While Christina Haack seemingly maintained a good relationship with Tarek El Moussa’s parents after the Flip or Flop stars divorced, she revealed that her relationship with her own parents was strained by the separation.
“I wasn’t very vocal with them about some of the issues that Tarek and I were having, so all of the sudden it’s like bam – I’ve moved out, I’m living at my nanny’s house. It came as a shock to 99.9% of people, including my parents,” Haack told Good Housekeeping in August 2017.
“Tarek was talking to them more than I was at first, and that made it a little difficult because they were just hearing his side,” she explained. “They were hoping we would be able to reconcile, especially for the kids, and also because Tarek and I had built such a life together. We were involved in every aspect of each other’s life, we still are. But in the end, it’s mine and Tarek’s decision, and only ours.”
