‘Clickbait’ Star Camaron Engels Says Miles Morales is his ‘Dream Role’
With the new Spider-Man trailer breaking records, another Spider-Man is on Netflix’s ‘Clickbait’ Star Camaron Engels’s mind. Responding to a tweet claiming that he would make a great Miles Morales, Engels admitted it’s one of his dream roles.
Miles Morales in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
As Spider-Man: Now Way Home approaches, so does the possibility of more spider-people in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For now, though, all rumors point to a return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man.
Will there even be a Miles Morales for Camaron Engels to play in the MCU?
Eagle-eyed fans know that in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man interrogated Aaron Davis, Miles’s uncle.
In Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Aaron Davis served as a mentor to Miles and a major antagonist as the Prowler. The Aaron Davis Holland’s Spider-Man interrogated mentioned that he had a nephew, which perked fans’ ears.
Miles’s uncle in the MCU meant Miles could not stay away for long, right?
Years later, and numerous Marvel movies released, but neither Miles nor his uncle has appeared.
However, with the seemingly forgotten Marvel villain Abomination being confirmed to appear in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, it’s unlikely Marvel would forget about such a breakout character.
How Camaron Engels could bring Miles Morales to life
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a surprising hit. With so much dimension-hopping and the main cast consisting of six versions of the same characters, plenty expected audiences to be utterly confused.
With such a warm reception to the movie, it only seemed natural to explore that in live-action. The surprise return of Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus all but confirms suspicions of Maguire and Garfield’s reprisals as the webhead.
With Miles so closely associated with the Spider-Verse, its introduction only improves the chances of seeing him soon.
Miles Morales originally debuted in comics in 2011 as part of Marvel’s “Ultimate Universe,” created by Michael Bendis and Italian artist Sara Pichelli.
While initial reception to the new character was hesitant, he saw a huge spike in popularity thanks to the Sony film.
Marvel will be on the lookout for who should play Miles Morales. Camaron Engels expressing early interest in the character will undoubtedly draw attention.
The success of Netflix’s ‘Clickbait’ can only help Camaron Engels
In Clickbait, the abducted Nick Brewer appears in an online video holding a sign that reads “at 5 million views, I die.” Of course, the video goes viral, leading to a race against the clock.
Camaron Engels plays one of Nick’s sons, Ethan. The thrilling Netflix mystery has gotten a lot of buzz recently, prompting one viewer to comment on their binge, says MovieWeb.
They also noted that “Camaron Engels would make a great Miles Morales.”
“One of my dream roles actually,” Engels responded.
With the potential for Miles to join the MCU in the future, Engels is hopeful that his dreams “manifest.”
