Throughout the book Silverstone talks about what it means to live a “kind” life and how it has the potential to organically enhance the quality of life.

Vaccines were another thing Silverstone touched on in The Kind Mama: A Simple Guide to Supercharged Fertility, a Radiant Pregnancy, a Sweeter Birth, and a Healthier, More Beautiful Beginning. However, her hesitancy surrounding vaccines wasn’t the only controversial content in her book.

Silverstone believes tampons cause infertility

Living a clean, organic, and mindful life seems to be what inspired Silverstone to publish The Kind Mama: A Simple Guide to Supercharged Fertility, a Radiant Pregnancy, a Sweeter Birth, and a Healthier, More Beautiful Beginning. Silverstone’s book covered many topics, and the potential danger of tampons was one of them.

In her book Silverstone explained why she believes tampons are actually harmful to the body.

As Fox documented, Silverstone explained, “Unfortunately, feminine-care manufacturers aren’t required to tell you what’s in their products, which means that no one’s talking about the potential pesticide residues from non-organic cotton and the ‘fragrances’ containing hormone-upsetting, fertility-knocking phthalates that are snuggling up to your hoo-ha.”

She definitely raised some valid points, and since the release of Silverstone’s book, more and more versatile tampon options are being made available.
