‘Cobra Kai’ Season 4 Release: Netflix Confirms When the ‘Karate Kid’ Series Will Return
Fans of Cobra Kai have been waiting all year to find out when season 4 will premiere on Netflix. Now, the wait is over… the wait for the date. You still have to wait a while to see season 4. Netflix announced the season 4 premiere date for the Karate Kid streaming series along with a teaser.

‘Cobra Kai’ Season 4 premieres December 2021
Netflix confirmed December 2021 for the premiere of Cobra Kai Season 4. So, that just narrows it down to 31 days.
Release dates have been a interesting for Cobra Kai. Its first two seasons premiered in May 2018 and 2019 on YouTube Premium. However, when season 3 did not come May 2020, fans started to worry. Later in 2020, Netflix picked up the show, but aired the first two seasons in Aug. After announcing a Jan. 8 2021 premiere, Netflix dropped season 3 a week early on New Year’s Day.
The ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 4 teaser
A teaser for season 4 confirms the next All Valley Karate tournament. Apparently the official tournament board agrees with the intensity of Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do’s rivalry.
“Fasten your gi,” the announcer says. “Tie your belt. Karate is coming to the world’s biggest stage. Where legends are born. Welcome back to the All Valley Karate Tournament. The soul of the valley is on the line.”
The clips come from season 3, but new footage of the characters practicing kicks in their gis. Xolo Maridueña, Mary Mouser, Peyton List, Jacob Bertrand, Martin Kove, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka appear performing new moves.
What we know about season 4 so far
Season 4 of Cobra Kai filmed earlier this year in Atlanta, GA under COVID-19 safety protocols. Co-creator Jon Hurwitz announced the wrap of production in April. All of the main cast returned.
Netflix and the creators of Cobra Kai also confirmed that Thomas Ian Griffith would reprise his role as Terry Silver. Griffith played Silver in The Karate Kid Part III. The show has mentioned Silver before, and showed a young Silver in John Kreese’s Vietnam squad. Griffith joins other Karate Kid cast members Elisabeth Shue, Tamlyn Tomita, Yuji Okumoto, Traci Toguchi, Rob Garrison, Ron Thomas, and Tony O’Dell in returning for Cobra Kai. Hilary Swank has got to be next!
At the end of season 3, Johnny Lawrence (Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Macchio) joined forces to challenge Cobra Kai in the All Valley Karate Tournament. Lawrence brought his new Eagle Fang dojo to Macchio’s Miyagi-Do. With Kreese now in total control of the dojo, it’s winner take all for nothing less than the soul of the San Fernando Valley, as the tournament teaser confirms.
