Colin Farrell Felt ‘Sexual Tension’ With Jennifer Garner When She Was Dating Ben Affleck, Source Once Said
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck famously got close after filming Daredevil in 2003. While Affleck dated Jennifer Lopez from 2002 to 2004 and got down on one knee for her, he and Garner developed a relationship and tied the knot in 2005. A source once claimed that the couple’s Daredevil co-star, Colin Farrell, had feelings for Garner — but she was already taken.

Daredevil helped Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck establish a close friendship. The actors initially met when filming Pearl Harbor in 2000, but they later solidified their relationship with the 2003 superhero film. Garner was married to Scott Foley until 2004, and Affleck was engaged to Jennifer Lopez until that same year. By the end of 2004, both actors were single and ready to fall for each other. Garner and Affleck had a private wedding ceremony in June 2005.
Colin Farrell likely saw Garner and Affleck’s romance unfold on the set of Daredevil. The Irish actor allegedly felt a “sexual tension” with Garner. While he hoped to make a move, he never did because of her relationship with Affleck.
“He said he felt sexual tension between them,” a source close to the actor said, according to New Zealand site Now To Love. “He wanted to make a move on her then, but he set his sights elsewhere because she and Ben were already dating.”
The insider added that Farrell thought he and Garner were “soulmates.”
“He loves that she’s part Irish and that they’re both tough on the outside and sensitive on the inside,” they continued. Affleck allegedly thought Farrell’s interest in Garner was “pathetic,” but Garner might’ve enjoyed the male attention.

Jennifer Garner discussed working with Colin Farrell on the set of Daredevil. While speaking to Conan O’Brien in 2003, Garner claimed that Farrell had a scene in the movie that involved biting her lip. However, he repeatedly bit her so hard that her then-husband, Scott Foley, was concerned.
“I mean, Colin and I, really, he’s crazy!” Garner expressed on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. “Colin’s crazy. … He so went for it that I’m surprised that I’m sitting here right now. … There was this moment that the director added where he thought it would be cool if Colin just nibbled on my lip. And, I mean, there’s a lot there to nibble on, granted. But, every single take he would go from, like, a little nibble, to ….” Garner then simulated Farrell taking a massive bite of her lip.
Garner noted that after shooting all night, she woke up in the morning to her husband’s alarmed face.
The ’13 Going on 30′ actor has good relationships with her ex-husbands
Jennifer Garner is no longer with Ben Affleck. The couple separated in 2015 and finalized their divorce in 2018. She started dating her current boyfriend, John Miller, in 2018, and they appear to be going strong.
Garner has maintained civil relationships with both of her ex-husbands. She and Scott Foley married in 2000 and split in 2003. While they don’t keep in touch, Foley said in 2021 that he and Garner remain “cordial.”
“I mean, we do not keep in contact because she has her own family, I have mine,” Foley said on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. “It wouldn’t be something that we would search out, but I’ve seen her a few times, especially when we were living in LA. Marika’s [Domińczyk] been with me, and, you know, everybody says hi, and you’re cordial, and you move on. That’s life, right?”
Garner stays in contact with Affleck in 2024, as they share three kids and live near each other. She reportedly helped Affleck through his marital troubles with Jennifer Lopez.
