Meri Brown is best known for her role in Sister Wives, but the former polygamist is also a businesswoman. She owns and operates a small inn in Parowan, Utah. While the inn has been successful thus far, Meri is closing its doors, at least for a little while. She’ll be renovating Lizzie’s Heritage Inn to make it better than ever, but could the renovations be a filming opportunity? Fans want to see the renovation become a Sister Wives special or spinoff.

Meri Brown is shutting down her business for renovations

Meri Brown took to Instagram this week to update fans on one of her beloved businesses. In an Instagram post, she revealed that Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, the small inn she runs in Utah, will be shuttered indefinitely for renovations. The inn will remain open for tours and events but will not be renting rooms out for the foreseeable future. She noted that the property needs some TLC and intends to give it that.

Meri purchased Lizzie’s Heritage Inn in December 2017. Her relatives had built the property decades earlier, and her goal was to bring it back into the family. Her journey to owning the business was not smooth. Then-husband Kody Brown and her sister wives refused to help her raise capital for the property. Meri’s desire to run the business and her journey to own it were covered by Sister Wives. She managed to purchase the property on her own. Her mother, Bonnie Ahlstrom, ran the business until her sudden death in 2021. After Ahlstrom’s passing, Meri took over the property and has been living in Utah full-time for over a year.

Could a special about Lizzie’s Heritage Inn be on the horizon?

While Meri Brown will lose the income generated from renting out her inn, the renovations could be a golden opportunity for small business owners. Following news of the inn’s temporary closure, Sister Wives fans took to Reddit to discuss what could be happening with Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. While no one is exactly sure what Meri is planning, several fans were quick to note that they would be happy to watch a special about the inn and its rehab project.

Meri’s life at Lizzie’s Heritage Inn and the ins and outs of running the business wouldn’t just be a good special. It could also have spinoff potential. While Sister Wives remains on the air, fans wonder what could come next for Kody’s exes. A show about her small business would be right in Meri’s wheelhouse. Fans would also love to see more from Meri’s friend, Jenn Sullivan. Jenn appeared with Meri on several Sister Wives specials and sat in with Meri during a recent podcast interview. Fans of the series largely love Jenn’s realistic and funny insider take on the Brown family dynamics.

Right now, it doesn’t look like TLC plans to capitalize on the inn’s renovations, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they opted to do so. The network has done well with specials and spinoffs of the series. Christine Brown’s wedding special drew a decent crowd, and her cooking series, available on TLC’s website, has fans, too. There is plenty of evidence that Meri, with more fans than ever, could have a successful Sister Wives special.
