‘Counting On’: Did Jill Duggar Just Snub Her Mom Michelle on Mother’s Day?
Mother’s Day was May 10, but the day came and went without Jill Duggar publicly acknowledging her mom Michelle Duggar. The Counting On alum didn’t post anything regarding the holiday on her Instagram, even as several of her siblings took to social media to praise their mom.
Jill Duggar stays quiet on Mother’s Day
Last year, Jill, 28, posted a gushing message about Michelle on Instagram. She said she was “grateful” for her mom, adding that “she demonstrates what a selfless, joyful, patient mother should look like as she raised and continues to raise all 19 of us!”
“She is the most loving person you’ll ever meet!,” Jill went on to say. “She always takes time to invest in the life of her kids and is constantly looking for ways to bless others! I’m so grateful to have the most amazing mom in the world as my mom and a great role model for me and many others!”
But this year, there wasn’t a repeat of the glowing praise. Jill didn’t post anything on Instagram about her mom. That won’t surprise some who follow the Duggar family. An insider recently told In Touch Weekly that Jill is “on good terms” with both her parents. However, there have long been rumors she and her husband Derick Dillard are feuding with Jim Bob and Michelle.
Michelle Duggar says she’s ‘grateful’ for her daughters
While Jill didn’t choose to share a public message about her mother on Sunday, Michelle did post about her mom and mother-in-law. She also talked about her own daughters and daughters-in-law, a number of whom are now mothers themselves.
“This Mother’s Day, I’m thinking on the next generation of mothers, and I’m so grateful to God for each one of my daughters and daughters-in-love!” the mom of 19 wrote on Instagram. “They are godly, wonderful mothers, raising the next generation to know and love the Lord. My heart rejoices as I watch them love on and nurture their own little ones … It brings a smile to my face every time I get the joy of being with these sweet Mamas!”
Jessa and Jana Duggar gush about Michelle
Jill was not the only Duggar girl who didn’t wish her mom a happy Mother’s Day on social media. Neither Joy-Anna nor Jinger Duggar posted any messages for Michelle. But Jessa and Jana Duggar did.
Jana shared a throwback photo of her mom and talked about her admiration for her “selfless” parent.
“You are always giving of your time, energy and resources to bless others,” Michelle’s oldest daughter wrote. “I honestly don’t know how you do all that you do! … Thank you for being my best friend!”
Mom of three Jessa talked about how much she loved seeing her mom be a grandmother to her own kids.
“The only thing sweeter than having you as my Mom, is watching you be Grandma to my kids!” she wrote. “You’re the sweetest Lolli in the whole world!”
