Counting On star Joy-Anna Duggar was part of Bringing Up Bates star Carlin Bates’ wedding party when she married musician Evan Stewart during Memorial Day weekend. However, when the 21-year-old shared pictures on her Instagram of her best friend’s nuptials, the trolls came out in droves to accuse Duggar of stealing Bates’ thunder.

Joy-Anna Duggar is expecting baby number two

Earlier this spring, Joy-Anna and her husband, Austin Forsyth, announced that they were expecting their second child this November. The pictures from Bates’ wedding was the first time she showed fans her growing baby bump, as she wore a pregnancy-friendly floor-length blush pink bridesmaid gown.

In every full-length photo that Joy-Anna shared, she was cradling her baby bump, and this is what got the haters talking.

“Should you really try to outshine the bride by showing your baby bump?” wrote a troll, while another added, “You and your preg sisters need to stop putting hands on your bellies … it’s not your time to shine, good grief!!”

The shade didn’t end there, as a third wrote, “It’s a nice picture, but does she have to cradle her baby bump in EVERY picture? Enough already. I’d like to see one picture where she doesn’t.”

Despite the negative comments, Carlin was thrilled to have her best friend at her wedding and wrote in the comments that she was thankful for everything Joy-Anna Duggar did to make her wedding day perfect. Carlin added that she couldn’t have done it without Joy-Anna’s help.

Cradling is common with pregnant mothers

Joy-Anna isn’t the only pregnant celebrity that online trolls have targeted about the practice known as “cradling.” According toIn Touch Weekly, when Meghan Markle was pregnant with Archie Harrison, social media users called her “annoying” for holding her baby bump, and some brought out the snark, reminding Markle that her belly wasn’t “going to fall off.”

Katherine Graves, the founder of KG Hypnobirthing, says that cradling is common during pregnancy, and it is a positive thing for mom and baby to touch. She explained that this is a vital part of the bonding process, and can help stave off postnatal depression.

Graves says it’s a proven fact that babies recognize what they experience in the womb after they are born, and if touching their baby bump helps mom feel calm, it can have a profound effect on the newborn.

Joy-Anna Duggar just started her second trimester

Counting On fans also noticed that even though Joy-Anna just started her second trimester, her baby bump is already quite big. The dress she wore to Carlin’s wedding perfectly displayed her growing belly, and the mom of 1-year-old Gideon was absolutely glowing in the pics.

When Joy-Anna and Austin announced their first pregnancy, she was already showing, and it led to speculation that the couple had had a shotgun wedding.

No one believed that she was only three months along at the time of the announcement, and rumors swirled that Joy-Anna had gotten pregnant before getting married.

However, she ended up giving birth exactly nine months after tying the knot, proving that she had gotten pregnant on her honeymoon and laying the rumors to rest.

Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth just celebrated their second wedding anniversary

While baby news is all the rage in the Duggar family at the moment – with three other pregnant Duggars in addition to Joy-Anna, and Jessa just giving birth to her daughter, Ivy Jane – Joy-Anna and Austin took some time to celebrate their second wedding anniversary on May 26th. She wrote a sweet message on Instagram praising her husband and thanking him for being “the strong man and the spiritual leader” in her life.

Joy-Anna Duggar wrote that she was crazy about Austin, and she loves him “OH. SOOO. MUCH.” She also shared her excitement for their upcoming anniversary trip.
