‘Counting On’ Fans Are Convinced That Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Drink Alcohol
Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are no longer on the best terms with Duggar’s family. The two left Counting On back in 2017, and while many believed they were fired, Dillard has since hinted that it has something to do with Jim Bob and TLC possibly withholding money. Either way, the couple doesn’t have a good relationship with Duggar’s parents, which has led some to question if they’re still following Michelle and Jim Bob’s intended rules. And some fans are convinced the two now drink alcohol.
Duggar and Dillard have never fully revealed why they left ‘Counting On’
When the announcement of the couple’s departure came in 2017, it was right on the heels of Dillard’s controversial tweets about some other TLC stars. Many fans believed the couple had been fired from the show for that reason, but now, more than two years later, they are still informing fans that this was not the case.
Dillard hinted that there were problems between his family, Jim Bob, and TLC, supposedly stemming from an unfair salary. Duggar once said that two left because the show started to become too much for them, but it was hard to take that as the truth.
Dillard recently said Duggar needs permission to go to her parents’ house
Dillard loves to use social media to expose the famous family. And since women in Duggar’s family are taught to be submissive toward their husbands, there isn’t much Duggar can do to stop him. Dillard has opened up about the family in the past, and he recently replied to a fan explaining that he and Duggar need permission to go to her parents’ house. He also added that when Duggar wanted to help her sister, Jessa Duggar, while she was in labor, she still needed to get the OK from her father first.
The other Duggar kids are always welcome at their parents’ house on the show, so it’s clear that there is major tension between Duggar’s parents and her husband.
Fans are convinced the two have started drinking alcohol
As the Duggars grow up, get married, and start their own families, they occasionally rewrite their house rules. And though Michelle and Jim Bob don’t drink alcohol, fans are convinced that Duggar and Dillard do.
“I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if she has a glass here or there, or if Derrick has a beer when he’s at a friends’ place,” one Reddit user wrote. “Derick said they never said they don’t drink in one of his tweets,” someone else pointed out. “If Jill did drink she’d probably only drink with her husband,” another user wrote.
The Duggar children don’t always play by their parents’ rules
When the Duggar kids marry and move out, they’re allowed to form their own set of rules. This explains why Jinger Duggar has become the family rebel; she and Jeremy Vuolo have a different set of rules than she was raised with. This also explains why Dillard and Duggar are technically allowed to drink, should they choose. It doesn’t mean Duggar’s parents would condone it, but since they no longer live under their roof, they can’t say much about it.
