‘Counting On’: Fans Think They Know what John and Abbie Duggar Will Name Their Daughter
John and Abbie Duggar are the next Duggar couple to welcome a child. The two announced a pregnancy earlier this year, along with five other members of the Duggar family. Abbie said she is due sometime in January, and those who follow the famous family have already started debating what John and Abbie might name their little girl.
John and Abbie married later in life than most Duggars
It’s not surprising when a Duggar announces a courtship as a teenager. And since the Duggars don’t wait long to get married, there have been several family members, including spouses, who have wed as teenagers. However, John and Abbie Duggar met a bit later in life, and while they are still young according to modern America, they had a late start compared to John’s siblings. The couple wed when John was 28 and Abbie was 26. Now, more than a year later, they’re preparing to welcome their first child.
The two waited longer to have kids than other Duggars
It’s common in the Duggar world to get pregnant on your wedding night. Several Duggars have welcomed babies almost exactly nine months after getting married, and it has even caused speculation that the Duggars could purposely plan their weddings around their most fertile days. Of course, this hasn’t been proven, and it’s clearly not the case for John and Abbie.
While some Duggars instantly start growing their families, John and Abbie waited nearly six months after their wedding date to get pregnant. It’s possible they were trying sooner than that, but it seems they weren’t in a huge rush to have kids.
Fans think their daughter will be named something pilot-related
Now that Abbie’s due date is approaching, fans have started to wonder what she and her husband might name their little girl. Abbie is a nurse, and John is a pilot, so fans assume the baby’s name will have something to do with one of those things.
“My number one guess is the obvious Amelia Grace but also wondering if they might use a famous nurse name too? Like Clara or Florence?” one person suggested on Reddit. “Alternate prediction: Skye Grace Duggar,” someone else wrote. Another user suggested Ava, short for aviation. Some fans joked, with options such as “Jay Jay the Jet Plane” and “Air Force One Duggar.”
It’s unclear if Abbie’s morning sickness will affect how many kids they have
Abbie has been struggling with intense morning sickness since her pregnancy first started. She has a disorder called hyperemesis gravidarum, which is also known as extreme morning sickness. It’s the same medical condition Kate Middleton dealt with during all three of her pregnancies. For most women, morning sickness only lasts through the first trimester, but for women with hyperemesis gravidarum, it could last almost the entire pregnancy.
Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar don’t believe in birth control, though there has been speculation that some of their kids use it. It’s unclear if Abbie’s problems with morning sickness might affect how many kids she and John have, though we wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to have fewer kids than most of his siblings.
