‘Counting On’ Fans Notice Something Odd About Joy Duggar’s Wedding Rings: ‘You Have Your Rings on Backwards’
Counting On fans think Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth have one of the sweetest relationships of all Duggar couples. To fans and critics, Duggar and Forsyth seem much more connected than some other couples and share a lot of the same interests.
Duggar loves showing off her and her husband’s relationship on social media, but one fan recently noticed something odd about her wedding rings.

Duggar and Forsyth are several years apart, but they’ve known each other for most of their lives. The two met through church after Forsyth’s family moved to Arkansas when he was young. Duggar and Forsyth were always friends, but with Forsyth being older than her, things never turned romantic. However, once Duggar was 18, Forsyth started to view her differently, and the two realized there was something romantic there.
They only courted for a short time before getting engaged, and, in typical Duggar fashion, they wed quickly. Duggar and Forsyth married in May 2017, when she was only 19 and he was 23.
Duggar consistently explains how Forsyth is her rock
Duggar and Forsyth didn’t wait long to start a family. Almost exactly nine months after they wed, the two welcomed their first child. Their son, Gideon, was born in February 2018. The two seem to be following Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s path of having plenty of children — the couple announced their second pregnancy in Spring 2019.
Tragically, Duggar and Forsyth lost their baby at 20 weeks, and it was difficult for both of them to heal. But Duggar made it clear that her appreciation for her husband only grew upon going through the difficult loss. Duggar loves giving Forsyth shoutouts on social media, and she seems to genuinely appreciate everything he does for her and the way he cares for his son. Forsyth, who now has his own Instagram account, recently gave a shoutout to his little family, too.
One fan noticed that Duggar wears her wedding rings backward
When Duggar posted a photo alongside Forsyth on May 2, fans loved the affection between the two. “Aww. Y’all are so cute,” Jill Duggar wrote. Joy Duggar’s best friend, Carlin Bates, also commented loving emojis on the post. But one fan noticed something interesting about Duggar’s wedding rings. “You have your rings on backwards,” the fan wrote.
Surprisingly, Duggar answered the fan’s comment, explaining why she wears her engagement ring behind her wedding ring instead of in front. “Yes! My engagement ring is a bit big, so I put my wedding band in the front!” Duggar wrote. Plenty of fans responded to the comment as well, saying they wear their rings in the same fashion for various reasons — mostly just because they like the way it looks.
Duggar and Forsyth are expecting a daughter later this year
The Forsyths recently announced that they’re expecting another baby girl. They made the announcement at 18 weeks, likely because of the difficulty they experienced having to tell the world about their miscarriage last year. But the two seem extremely excited to be welcoming a new little one and to finally give Gideon a sibling. Duggar hasn’t given the exact date, but she’s likely due sometime in August.
