‘Counting On’: Jill Duggar and Michelle Duggar’s Feud Is Over, Will Jim Bob and Derick Bury the Hatchet Next?

Former Counting On star Jill Duggar may have finally ended the feud with her mother, Michelle Duggar. Jim Bob Duggar’s wife was spotted in a birthday post for Jill’s son, Israel, a sign that things may have cooled down between Michelle and her daughter. Now that Jill and Michelle are on better terms, what are the chances that Jim Bob and Derick Dillard bury the hatchet?

Fans have criticized the Duggars for not following social distancing guidelines in light of the coronavirus pandemic. But there are some members of the Duggar clan who are practicing good social distancing.

Taking to Instagram, Jill Duggar recently shared photos of the birthday party she hosted for her 5-year-old son, Israel. In accordance with good quarantine practices, Jill had her family members greet Israel from outside of the house.

In one of the pics, Counting On fans were quick to notice that Michelle stopped by to wish Israel a happy birthday. Jill did not tag Michelle in the post, but the visit is a clear sign that things are getting better between them.

“Happy 5th birthday Israel! Although the current state with Coronavirus has changed our plans, we are counting our blessings and trying to make lemonades from lemons,” Jill shared. “We did a special birthday breakfast and are planning a drive this afternoon to say hey to friends from our car before we make our way to Derick’s mom and stepdad’s for a simple celebration in their front yard (keeping our distance)!”

While it appears as though Michelle and Jill have made amends, the post left Counting On fans wondering where things stand between Jim Bob and Derick.

Will Jim Bob Duggar and Derick Dillard bury the hatchet next?

Unlike Michelle, Jim Bob was nowhere to be seen at Israel’s birthday party. We cannot say for sure why Jim Bob seemingly skipped the event, but it likely has something to do with his ongoing feud with Jill’s husband.

Jim Bob and Derick have been feuding for a long time. According to The Hollywood Gossip, the rift has gotten so wide that Jill and Derick no longer take part in family gatherings and have been missing in action in the Duggars’ social media timelines.

Jill and Derick, of course, are no longer on Counting On, which has made it even harder to tell what is really going on behind the scenes. Jill Duggar did enjoy a brief cameo last season, but she is not expected to make any more appearances.

Considering everything that has happened between Derick and Jim Bob, it seems unlikely that the two will bury the hatchet anytime soon. But if Jill and Michelle have made amends, perhaps the door is open for Jim Bob and Derick to do the same.

Inside Derick Dillard’s feud with Jim Bob Duggar

Derick’s issues with Jim Bob started after he was kicked off Counting On for making transphobic remarks on Twitter about his fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings. Once Derick was off the show, Jill Duggar followed his lead, a move that probably did not go over well with Jim Bob and Michelle.

Since his departure, Derick has blasted Jim Bob several times on social media. He has criticized his father-in-law for negotiating contracts with TLC behind everyone’s back and basically stealing money from his children.

He has also revealed plans to write a tell-all memoir about his time on the show, which could spill the family’s darkest secrets.

For his part, Jim Bob has remained silent about Derick and his allegations. The former 19 Kids and Counting star seems content with sweeping things under the rug, and that probably will not change for the foreseeable future.

Jill Duggar snubs Jim Bob and Michelle

At the beginning of last month, Jill seemingly snubbed her parents after they wished Derick a happy 31st birthday on social media. Taking to Instagram, the couple praised Derick for being a “loving husband” and “wonderful daddy.”

“Happy birthday, Derick!  We’re so thankful for you! You’re a loving husband to our sweet Jill, and a wonderful daddy to your boys. May God bless you in this new year!!” they shared.

Despite the praises, Jill did not comment on the post. She was active on social media at the time, so the chances that she did not see Jim Bob and Michelle’s comment is slim.

Derick, of course, also remained mum on social media. He did, however, like a few comments that reflected negatively on Jim Bob and Michelle, signaling that things are still not right between the families.

“This is damage control,” one fan wrote, while another added, “You’ve treated him and Jill horribly because your love is conditional, and your brand is more important to you than your children.”

Derick Dillard has not commented on the reports surrounding Jill Duggar and her mom Michelle.
