‘Counting On’: Jill Duggar Seemingly Responds to Jana Duggar’s Latest Post — Are the Famous Sister’s Feuding Too?
Former Counting On star Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, recently released a series of Q&A videos to give fans insight into their life post-reality TV. The couple has revealed why they walked away from her family’s TLC show. Jill has admitted that she doesn’t get along with all of her siblings. Now, the mom-of-two has distanced herself from her famous family even further. Has Jill changed her political views since breaking away from her parents?
The ‘Counting On’ stars are known for their conservative political views
Jill’s parents are fundamentalist Christians who have raised their 19 children almost completely cut off from the secular world. While the Duggar family does travel and interact with their Arkansas community, Jim Bob and Michelle don’t regularly expose their children to non-Biblical things. This includes the entertainment they consume, their education materials, and the people they socialize with.
Jim Bob and Michelle’s strict rules and beliefs also influence their politics. Both have been vocal in past elections as supporters of the Republican party. They’ve campaigned for socially conservative candidates like Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum. Michelle even offered up her voice for robocalls that some claimed to be transphobic and anti-LGBTQ.
From 1999 to 2002, Jim Bob was an elected member of the Arkansas House of Representatives. And in 2020, Jill’s little brother Jed is running for state rep as a Republican.
In the upcoming election, those in the family who are old enough to vote appear to be supporting Donald Trump. Oldest daughter Jana shared a pro-Trump post on social media. And 20-year-old Jason just got really creative with his “yard artwork” in support of the POTUS.
Jana Duggar shares Jason Duggar’s bold political statement
As The Hollywood Gossip noticed, Jill’s older sister Jana posted a video on her YouTube channel on October 5. The four-minute video titled “Yard Artwork” featured Jana and Jill’s little brother Jason going to work with a weedeater.
Jason is in the front yard of Jim Bob and Michelle’s Arkansas compound. He uses the garden tool to carve “Trump 2020” into the grass.
“James is so creative and is always surprising us with the things he comes up with,” Jana wrote in the description.
Fan reaction has been mixed, with 2.8K thumbs up votes and 2.6K thumbs down votes. But, it should come as a surprise to no one that the Duggar’s are showing their support for the republican candidate.
No Duggar has ever publicly voiced support for a non-Republican. But Jill’s latest Instagram Story has many wondering if she could be the first. It also sparked rumors she was directly responding to Jana’s latest post and possibly feuding with her sister.
Jill has changed a lot since distancing herself from her family. She has a nose piercing, she talks about sex as a partner activity and not an act of submission, and she has even enrolled her oldest son in public school. But, has she gone so far as to change her political views?
The former ‘Counting On’ star doesn’t hate non-Republican political candidates
Jill and Derick have made it very clear that they are still Christians who believe in the Bible. Even though they aren’t as extreme as her parents, they are still conservative people. But it appears that Jill is open to political ideas and candidates that are not linked to conservative Republicans.
On Thursday, October 15, the former Counting On star shared a nice post on her Instagram Story about the 2020 presidential and vice-presidential candidates.
“Kamala is beloved, Donald is fearfully and wonderfully made. Mike is cherished, Joe is important enough that I died for him,” the post read.
Presented as a quote credited to Christ Jesus, Jill added the hashtag #Jesus2020. On top she wrote, “Such a good reminder for us all, and a heart check for me.” She also added a yellow arrow with “this” written on top.
Jill did not write the quote or create the image. She shared the post from Derick’s sister-in-law, Deena Dillard. The former Counting On star didn’t officially choose sides. But she did acknowledge candidates and ideas that her parents would seemingly never endorse.
