Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo have quickly become the most modern couple among the Duggars. They’re fan favorites on Counting On, and it started the moment they tied the knot. Though Duggar does occasionally listen to modern music, her recent Instagram story came as a surprise to fans.

When Duggar and Vuolo were first married, they opted not to settle down in Arkansas near Duggar’s parents. Instead, Duggar moved in with Vuolo in Laredo, Texas, where he was working as a pastor. The two instantly started creating their own rules; Duggar began wearing pants and even dyed her hair. The couple lived like most Americans, attending fun events on weekends and making friends around their neighborhood.
In July, they announced they were moving to Los Angeles — a surprising city for such a conservative family. But so far, they seem to love their new city. The couple, along with their daughter, Felicity, are constantly exploring new areas and trying new restaurants. And Duggar was even once spotted wearing shorts.
Duggar recently revealed she listens to some modern artists
Growing up, the Duggars were not allowed to listen to modern music. Today’s music sometimes has promiscuous undertones, which Michelle and Jim Bob do not think is appropriate for their kids to listen to. But Vuolo was more exposed to music than Duggar was, and since marrying him, she’s opened herself up to new artists as well. She recently posted a Spotify playlist that featured music from modern singers such as Ed Sheeran and Regina Spektor. Though the Spotify playlist still included a lot of Christian music, it was surprising to see that Duggar had branched out.

Duggar surprised fans with her recent Instagram story. It was a photo of her flying on a plane with her daughter, Felicity, sleeping in her lap. It appeared Duggar was sitting in first class based on the design of the seats, but that’s another story (fans have often wondered how much money the couple actually has). Duggar’s Instagram story featured the song “Jesus is Lord” by Kanye West, which shocked fans. Though West is now a Christian rapper, he still has a past of writing songs with inappropriate lyrics and is considered a very modern artist.
“So you really listen to Kanye West?” one fan wrote under Duggar’s most recent post. “He released a gospel album a few months ago so it makes sense,” someone else responded. “Give in to the media pressure,” someone else commented.

Though some fans were shocked that Duggar listens to the rapper, it actually shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Duggar and Vuolo attended one of Kanye West’s Sunday Services a few months back, and they’ve grown an appreciation for the artist. Vuolo praised West for his Sunday Service, saying that everything West preached seemed genuine and didn’t have any errors. West’s Sunday Service has become incredibly popular in California, and it’s clear Duggar and Vuolo want to soak up their California lifestyle as much as possible.
