‘Counting On’: Joy Duggar’s Husband, Austin Forsyth, Might Be the Sweetest Duggar Dad
Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth have been married since 2017, and they’ve been through a lot as a couple. Duggar is currently pregnant with their second child (a baby girl), but the two certainly have their hands full with their son, Gideon, who is always a ball of energy. But Forsyth continues to prove that he has the sweetest bond with his little boy.

When Duggar and Forsyth were married in 2017, fans and critics alike weren’t entirely sure how to feel about their relationship. There were concerns that the marriage was somewhat arranged. But in time, these two proved that they have an extremely strong relationship.
Duggar and Forsyth welcomed their first child, Gideon, just nine months after they wed. And they didn’t wait long to announce baby no. 2. Last spring, the two said they’d be welcoming their second child in the fall. Unfortunately, after 20 weeks, Duggar miscarried. It was hard to move on from, but Forsyth seemed to be there for her every step of the way.

These days, fans see the couple far differently from how they once did. Duggar and Forsyth work on renovating homes together, and Duggar, who has always been a bit tomboyish, seems to have found her perfect match in Forsyth. The two have a close bond, and although Duggar doesn’t technically have a job (the Duggar family believes in very traditional gender roles), Forsyth looks at her as more of a team member on the renovation projects rather than just his wife. And fans seem to think these two have one of the happiest marriages out of any of the Duggar kids.

Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar raised their kids to believe in very traditional gender roles — the man goes to work and handles the money while the woman cooks, cleans, and handles the kids. For the most part, the Duggars still practice these roles, but Forsyth seems to a have true bond with his son that not all of the Duggar husbands do.
Forsyth constantly plays with Gideon, and when Duggar went through her miscarriage, Forsyth was the one changing the diapers every single day while she healed. He often posts loving photos and videos with Gideon to Instagram and seems genuinely interested in raising his son. “Austin seems like a loving wonderful husband and dad,” one user wrote on Forsyth’s recent Instagram post. “Austin is such a good dad,” someone else wrote.
The two are getting ready to welcome a little girl
Fans will soon get to see how Forsyth behaves as the father of a little girl. He and Duggar recently announced that they’re expecting another child. Their daughter’s due date is unknown, but she’ll likely arrive sometime late summer, as Duggar was 19 weeks in late March. The baby comes after the two lost their first little girl, which makes her arrival that much more special. And we’re confident that Forsyth will love being a girl dad.
