Counting On stars Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth have welcomed a baby girl — the two announced that their daughter was born on Aug. 21. The two have not yet revealed their baby’s name.
Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth have welcomed a baby girl
Duggar and Forsyth wed in May 2018, and they didn’t wait long to start a family. Duggar became pregnant right away, and the two welcomed their first child, Gideon Forsyth, in February 2017. The Duggars tend to have kids close in age, and this past spring, Duggar and Forsyth announced that they were expecting a little girl.
Forsyth documented her pregnancy for fans on social media, though she never revealed her exact due date. The two chose to wait a while beyond the first trimester to reveal the news to fans after losing a baby last year at 20 weeks.

When the couple announced they were expecting a girl, fans were excited for them. In 2019, Duggar had announced a pregnancy to fans in the spring, but the two tragically lost their baby at 20 weeks. When the couple went in for their 20-week checkup to learn the gender, they were told their baby had no heartbeat. Duggar gave birth to the little girl, and she and Forsyth had a photoshoot with their daughter, Annabell Elise, before laying her to rest.
Forsyth and Duggar had a difficult time moving past the miscarriage; Duggar said she cried tears of joy upon hearing her new baby’s heartbeat while pregnant.

Duggar and Forsyth had been waiting patiently for their little girl, whose Aug. 19 due date came and went. Duggar posted to Instagram that the baby arrived two days after her planned date.
“We have been dreaming of this day and are so happy to announce that our baby girl arrived August 21st at 2:12 p.m. weighing 8 lbs., 5 oz. and is 19.5 inches long,” Duggar wrote. She and Forsyth have not yet announced their daughter’s name. “Getting to spend that quiet, quality time with her through the night has been SO special.”
The baby is Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s 18th grandchild
Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar are close to having as many grandchildren as they do children. Joy and Austin’s daughter is the couple’s 18th grandchild, meaning the next baby to come along will be a big deal for the grandparents.
Fans have debated which couple might have the Duggars’ 20th grandchild as well, since that’s also a big number for Michelle and Jim Bob. Some suspect it will be either Joe and Kendra Duggar or Jessa and Ben Seewald. Fans are convinced Joe and Kendra will have the most children of anyone in the family, and since Jessa and Ben have already talked about baby no. 4, fans believe they’re in the running for grandchild no. 20, too.
